Benches mark the spot!

Eight Hednesford residents have made rustic benches for the rest of the community to enjoy on the Heritage Trail on Hednesford Park.

The Friends of Hednesford Park helped support the project which was funded by County Council Adult and Family Learning, and The Forest of Mercia delivered the 12 hour training course. The benches have now been installed along the trail on Hednesford Park for everyone to enjoy.

Local resident Diane Hooper, was one of the first to see the newly fitted benches said “I regularly walk along the Heritage Trail and have seen a variety of wildlife along this path including a tawny owl and a black cap. It will be nice for people to sit down and enjoy it.”

The benches have already attracted new interest for future training courses and some have asked for bat boxes, insect hotels and bird boxes! If you agree and would like to be involved please contact The Friends of Hednesford Park by phone on 07896 239717, or email: [email protected].
