There were approximately 24 members of the public in attendance

1 CHAIRMAN’S WELCOME AND INTRODUCTIONS . The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting.

2 APPOINTMENT OF VICE-CHAIRMAN . RESOLVED: Roy Broome (Highley Parish Council) was nominated and unanimously appointed as Vice Chair.

. RESOLVED: that the decision notes of the meeting held on 11h November 2014 be approved and signed by the Chairman as a correct record.

5 PRESENTATION: Street Scene Kate Adams, Street Scene Manager for Shropshire Council, talked about her roles and responsibilities and gave advice on what to report and how.

6 COMMUNITY SAFETY UPDATE . Police: Shelley and Nick took questions and concerns including: Speeding on Redstone Drive Section 59’s issued for anti social behaviour in or around a car 2 recent break ins are under investigation School 20mph campaign – meeting at the school 16th July 2015 Obstructions on the school road Meadow House Chelmarsh

Fire: Ashley answered questions on: Response times for getting to Highley – target is 20 mins Access in roads where parked cars make it difficult for appliances to get to the emergency Regular fire alarms checks – help you neighbours, they are still available free for over 75’s or those with disabilities.

 7 SWIMMING POOL AND SWIMMING CLUB UPDATE £5,800 has been raised already Fundraising events coming up include:  Christmas Fayre  Highley Remembers its Military Heros  Triathlon  Rummage Sale  Sport Day  It’s a Knock Out  Christmas Hamper  Raffle

Swimming Club Following on from the public meetings in March and the interest in restarting the swimming club – discussions have taken place with Northgate and hope that in 2016 the two groups can come together under the Northgate umbrella, it is too late for this year so instead there will be a swimming training

camp starting on Sunday (19th July) 9am, running through the summer holidays ending with a gala.

Letters will go out to the school tomorrow but encourage everyone to promote this opportunity. Volunteers will be needed – Rebecca Skan has volunteered to coach the groups but helpers needed pool side, to take the money and help with the gala.

 8. FINANCE REPORT The report marked B was approved and grant applications for activities for young people aged between 10 and 19 was launched – closing date 30th September, application forms from [email protected]
