Please join us for Coffee and Cookies in the basement following the 10:30am Mass. Congratulations to William Cooney who was received into the Church on Wed. He will make his First Holy Communion at the 10:30am Mass today. : There will be a Low Mass at 7:00am and a Sung Mass at 6:00pm. Ashes will be distributed promptly at the start of Mass only. Please note that Ash Wednesday is a Day of Fast and Abstinence by Law. The will be prayed on the Fridays of at 6:15pm following the 5:15pm Mass. Friday Holy Hour/Devotions will be suspended during Lent. Additionally, there will be no all-day Adoration on the First Friday of March. Simple Lenten Suppers: Please come and join the faithful of St. Francis Church for simple, meatless suppers on three Fridays in Lent, Feb 16, Mar 2, and Mar 16. The suppers will follow the Stations of the Cross. The 40 Days for Life Prayer Vigil will begin on Ash Wednesday, February 14, and run through March 25. St. Francis associates have been asked to keep the vigil on Wednesdays from 10 am-2 pm, on the public sidewalk in front of the Planned Parenthood facility, at the Northwest corner of 48th St. and Old Cheney. Please use the sign-up sheet posted in the vestibule. Please offer your time and prayer to end this great sorrow. God bless you! Duty: All are reminded of the obligation for Catholics, once having made First Holy Communion, to receive Holy Communion during the Easter season, which is understood in the United States as being between the First Sunday of Lent and (the Sunday after ). Confraternity of St. Peter: members may gain a Plenary Indulgence - under the usual conditions - on the feast of the Chair of St. Peter (Feb 22).
