FIRST WIN IS FAMILY AFFAIR FOR J.J. KILLEEN – Winning your first Nationwide Tour event is no doubt special. But could it get any better than having your dad caddying for you!? Probably only if you also have your mom, wife and infant daughter there to witness it. Such was the case when J.J. Killeen won the Utah Championship on Sunday by four shots over Jeff Gove . “I’ve never felt this good before,” the 26-year-old said. When asked about compensation for his dad, Joe, a Lubbock, Texas, obstetrician and gynecologist, the younger Killeen said, “He wouldn’t accept a cent from me in a million years!” The victory moved the 2005 Texas Christian University graduate from 25 th to fifth on the money list, putting Killeen in the driver’s seat to earn his 2012 PGA TOUR card at year’s end. A resident of Fort Worth, Killeen has never teed it up in a PGA TOUR event.

SUPER FIELD IN OMAHA – As is usually the case given its sizeable purse and enthusiastic galleries, the Cox Classic field will be one of the best of the year. All of the year’s 11 non- amateur winners are scheduled to be in Omaha, plus 25 of the top 25 and 87 of the top 100. Leading money winner Mathew Goggin headlines the 156-player field. The Aussie is one title away from earning a three-win promotion to the PGA TOUR.

ERIK COMPTON RETURNS – Mexico Open winner Erik Compton has entered this week’s Cox Classic in Omaha. It will be Compton’s first Nationwide Tour start since his June win. He played in two PGA TOUR events (AT&T National/MC and The Greenbriar Classic/T73) in July. The 31- year-old is third on the Nationwide Tour money list.

RECENT NATIONWIDE TOUR WINNERS TABBED EARLY FOR WALKER CUP TEAM – A pair of 22-year-olds who won Nationwide Tour events this year were named to the 2011 U.S. Walker Cup team on Sunday. University of Georgia teammates and recent graduates and Russell Henley will compete in the biennial matches that feature ten American players vs. ten from Great Britain and Ireland at Royal Aberdeen Golf Club in Scotland Sept. 10- 11. Patrick Cantlay and Peter Uihlein were also selected. Six other U.S. competitors will be named later this summer. English won the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational in Columbus, Ohio on July 24 th . Henley won the Stadion Classic at UGA in Athens, Ga. on his home college course in early May. USGA president Jim Hyler cited their Nationwide Tour wins as significant factors in the selections.

SCOTT STALLINGS CHALKS UP ANOTHER ALUMNI WIN / NO. 313 – With a huge smile on his face, PGA TOUR rookie Scott Stallings captured The Greenbriar Classic on Sunday in a playoff in West Virginia. It was the 313 th time a Nationwide Tour alumnus has won on the PGA TOUR. Stallings played 28 of a possible 29 events as a first-year player on the Nationwide Tour in 2010, making 19 cuts and finishing 53 rd on the money list. The Massachusetts native who now lives in Knoxville, Tenn. earned his PGA TOUR card via the Qualifying School last December.

ROOKIES RACKING UP WINS – The 26-year-old Stallings became the fifth PGA TOUR rookie off the Nationwide Tour in 2010 to win on TOUR this year – joining Jhonattan Vegas, Brendan Steele, Keegan Bradley and Chris Kirk . This equals the most wins by a class off the Nationwide Tour. Mark Hensby, Zach Johnson, Ryan Palmer, Andre Stolz and Vaughn Taylor all won TOUR events in 2004, the year after they graduated from the Nationwide Tour. Gary Woodland , another PGA TOUR winner in 2011, also played regularly on the Nationwide Tour last year.

FEDEXCUP IMPACT – Five of the six 2011 PGA TOUR winners referenced above are 30 th or better in the current FedExCup standings – Gary Woodland (7 th ), Keegan Bradley (25 th ), Scott Stallings (26 th ), Chris Kirk (29 th ) and Jhonattan Vegas (30 th ). The other winner, Brendan Steele, is 43 rd . In all, there are 15 players who competed regularly on the Nationwide Tour last year who are among the top 125 in FedExCup points.

BUD CAULEY NOW 5 FOR 5 IN TOUR CUTS MADE – Bud Cauley of Jacksonville, Fla. finished T4 in the Utah Championship on Sunday. It was his first Nationwide Tour start since turning professional for the U.S. Open in June. The University of Alabama All-American has now made the cut in all five PGA TOUR-sanctioned events he’s played this summer. Cauley, 22, is back on the PGA TOUR this week having received a sponsor exemption to the Reno-Tahoe Open. With $319,145 earned in his four previous TOUR starts, he needs $244,584 to secure Special Temporary Membership for the rest of the year (equivalent of last year’s 150 th place on the money list).

CASEY CLIMBING – Casey Wittenberg has made the most of getting only four Nationwide Tour starts this year due to conditional status. A third-place finish in the Utah Championship was preceded by a ninth in Mexico, T33 in the Chiquita Classic and 13 th at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational, resulting in his current position on the money list of 34 th . The former amateur sensation out of Memphis, Tenn. earned his PGA TOUR card once before when he finished 15 th on the Nationwide Tour in 2008.
