R&D and innovation in

An overview of financing programmes

Ministry of Science and Technology

In recent years, China has embarked on a series of programmes and activities de- signed to promote R&D and innovation in R&D organizations and industries. Key technology sectors have been identified for financing innovative projects that would eventually promote entrepreneurship and enterprise development in the country. To enhance the country’s innovative capacity China will infuse vital funds into R&D projects in high-tech and emerging areas as well as into technology parks. This article gives an overview of current programmes to promote R&D and innovation.
