Gosberton House Care Home This Month We Have Managed To Gosberton House Care Home This month we have managed to continue with our weekly game of bowling by the summerhouse and also sing- a- longs. We have spent some beautiful sunny days doing activities on the patio outside the Blue Room, picked our strawberries (which may I say are very sweet and juicy), and we’ve been keeping an eye our tomatoes, sweet peppers and aubergines, sadly our cucumbers are not doing too well. All our other activities have been well attended and we are looking at introducing some new activities in the next few months. Our entertainers this month were St Nicolas Players, they had witty and humorous songs and verses, very enjoyable! We also enjoyed Tim Rogers a solo singer/musician who sang and played toe tapping jazzy songs. He made us laugh with some of his jokes throughout the performance; we will be having them both back again. Friday 22nd June was bring your dog to work day and we had visits from some lovely dogs thank you to Regina, Beverly and Karen We had Benji, Rocky, Floyd, Hattie, and George. We have decided for our resident’s trip out, we will be going to Baytree Garden Centre. The date in August will be confirmed shortly. We will be looking for volunteers to help on the day, so please let any of our activities team know if any family or friends would be interested in volunteering. On 8th August we will be holding our Resident and Relatives meeting. This is an opportunity for us all to get together to discuss any issues and future plans of Gosberton House…… We do value all comments and suggestions, so please do come a long, we look forward to seeing you all. A reminder an agenda will be sent to you nearer the time. She was told by the kindly newsman that it was a pound per word, and that he remembered Pete, and it was certainly too bad he had passed away. She thanked him for his kind words and bemoaned the fact that she only had two pounds, but she wrote out the obituary, "Pete died." The newsman said he thought old Pete deserved more and said he would give her three more words at no charge. Mrs. Monaghan sincerely thanked him and rewrote the obituary: "Pete died. Boat for sale". Smart Irishman An Irishman named Murphy went to his doctor after a long illness. The doctor, after a lengthy examination, sighed and looked Murphy in the eye and said, "I've some bad news for you... you have cancer and it can't be cured. I'd give you two weeks to a month." Murphy, shocked and saddened by the news, but of solid character, managed to compose himself and walk from the doctor's office into the waiting room. There he saw his son who had been waiting. Murphy said, "Son, we Irish celebrate when things are good and celebrate when things don't go so well. In this case, things aren't so well. I have cancer and I've been given a short time to live. Let's head for the pub and have a few pints." After three or four pints the two were feeling a little less somber. There were some laughs and more beers. They were eventually approached by some of Murphy's old friends who asked what the two were celebrating. Murphy told them that the Irish celebrate the good and the bad... he went on to tell them that they were drinking to his impending end. He told his friends, "I've only got a few weeks to live as I have been diagnosed with AIDS." The friends gave Murphy their condolences and they had a couple more beers. After his friends left, Murphy's son leaned over and whispered, "Dad, I thought you said that you were dying from cancer. You just told your friends that you were dying from AIDS!" Murphy said,"I am dying from cancer, son, I just don't want any of them sleeping with your mother after I'm gone. Puzzle Page Can you Find The Hidden Celebrities? AL PACINO, BRAD. Happy Feet premiere - Film - Entertainment - smh.com.au 12/15/2006 05:05 PM Happy Feet premiere Australian director George Miller, left, and American actress Brittany Murphy at the Sydney premiere. Photo: Reuters December 11, 2006 Antarctica came to Sydney on Sunday as film fans were given their first sneak peek of Australian director George Miller's animated movie hit, Happy Feet. As fake snow gently fell outside Fox Studio's main theatre in Sydney's eastern suburbs, six baby penguins delighted the huge crowd eager to catch a glimpse of one of the movie's stars, Brittany Murphy. A 15-metre inflatable penguin also hovered overhead as Murphy, who lent her voice to Gloria the penguin in the movie, strutted down an arctic blue carpet. Murphy, who was wearing a floor-length velvet-trimmed gown, said working on the animated feature was "overwhelmingly wonderful". "There are no words to describe how much I enjoyed working on it other than it was extraordinarily incredible," Murphy told AAP. "I was incredibly fortunate to be able to work in the studio with Elijah Wood from the first day and ... getting to work with all the other actors was very unique." The film tells the story of a troupe of singing, dancing penguins voiced by Elijah Wood, Robin Williams and Australian actors Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Hugo Weaving and Magda Szubanski. Director George Miller, who was at the premiere, said working with Australian actors guaranteed good work. "Australian stars and crew don't get to where they are unless they're very very good at what they do," Miller said.

FinalProject 25/08/2018, 930 PM COGS108 Final Project Group Members: Yanyi Wang Ziwen Zeng Lingfei Lu Yuhan Wang Yuqing Deng Introduction and Background Movie revenue is one of the most important measure of good and bad movies. Revenue is also the most important and intuitionistic feedback to producers, directors and actors. Therefore it is worth for us to put effort on analyzing what factors correlate to revenue, so that producers, directors and actors know how to get higher revenue on next movie by focusing on most correlated factors. Our project focuses on anaylzing all kinds of factors that correlated to revenue, for example, genres, elements in the movie, popularity, release month, runtime, vote average, vote count on website and cast etc. After analysis, we can clearly know what are the crucial factors to a movie's revenue and our analysis can be used as a guide for people shooting movies who want to earn higher renveue for their next movie. They can focus on those most correlated factors, for example, shooting specific genre and hire some actors who have higher average revenue. Reasrch Question: Various factors blend together to create a high revenue for movie, but what are the most important aspect contribute to higher revenue? What aspects should people put more effort on and what factors should people focus on when they try to higher the revenue of a movie? http://localhost:8888/nbconvert/html/Desktop/MyProjects/Pr_085/FinalProject.ipynb?download=false Page 1 of 62 FinalProject 25/08/2018, 930 PM Hypothesis: We predict that the following factors contribute the most to movie revenue.

  • Savion Glover's "Happy Feet"
Jump Cut By George T. Marshall (December 2006) My friend, Larry and I were doing a bit of shopping in the early Fall looking for a present for his mom’s upcoming birthday. While at a local BJ’s, I happened upon a small palette of toys awaiting for their display as holiday gifts. They caught my attention as they were a tie-in to new film slated for a mid- November release. I recognized them immediately. For the past year, anyone attending a film at a motion picture theatre saw a startlingly real looking animation that seemed a comic spin on last year’s popular documentary, “March of the Penguins.” Unlike that film, these were loud and musically inclined animals featuring the voices of some of our more popular actors: Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Brittany Murphy, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, Hugo Weaving, Anthony LaPaglia, Magda Szubanski and Miriam Mirgoyles. The Warner Bros. Pictures feature film directed by George Miller of “Babe” fame is called “Happy Feet.” The film’s message: it is possible to be different, beautiful and special all at the same time while being yourself. So, here in front of me at BJ’s were three unique toy penguins that were voice activated. They danced, sang and spoke. One was called “Gloria,” and since that just happens to be Larry’s mom’s name, a bell went off. This was definitely going to be her gift from me. Gloria turned out to be a hit. She now has a place of honor in the family kitchen and every morning entertains Larry’s parents.

1 “The Field in Which We Are Planted” 1 Kings 19:1-15 Elijah. What do you think of when that name? If you’re of a certain age you probably think Wood, Elijah Wood, the hobbit. Sorry but this is church and while there is much to commend about The Lord of the Rings (the book) here it is the prophet. What can you tell me about Elijah? Some of you will probably think of one of the two incidences for which he is perhaps better known. Some of you might recall the story of his face off with the prophets of Baal. How he challenged them to a duel of prophets, if you will. A bull was slaughtered and made ready for a burnt offering. The idea was that the respective prophets (Baal and Yahweh) would call upon their God to light the sacrificial fire. (American Pie) The story goes how the prophets of Baal were said have “limped around the altar” and “cut themselves” and “raved on” but there was no answer, no fire. Then Elijah prepared an altar with a sacrificial bull and after putting the wood on the altar he told the people to pour water over the altar not once but three times. And he calls upon the God of Abraham and the “fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt offering.” The second popular story of Elijah is recounted in today’s reading; where Elijah hears the voice of God on the mountain, the still small voice. The account goes like this.

USING FILM TO TEACH PSYCHOLOGY: A RESOURCE OF FILM STUDY GUIDES Elizabeth M. Nelson, Christian Brothers University (2002 Instructional Resource Award Recipient) Overview This 106-page resource offers instructors tools for using films to enhance their instruction. Student evaluations consistently indicate that films help them learn the topics, provide an alternative to traditional lectures, and give them a different point of view. However, students also say they do not like to view films if they do not understand the relevancy of the film to the course material. This resource gives teachers of psychology additional tools for using film, such as tested study guides, sample syllabi, student papers, references, and Internet resources. The film study guides contained in this resource have been used in a variety of psychology classes, and may be applicable to a variety of other courses. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MEDIA CONTACT Emily Morris | (512) 463-6485 [email protected] Filmmakers Robert Rodriguez and Elizabeth Avellán to discuss The Faculty, Texas filmmaking at the Bullock Museum The Faculty will screen as part of the Bullock Museum's Texas Focus Film Series OCTOBER 7, 2019 (AUSTIN, TX) — Filmmakers Robert Rodriguez and Elizabeth Avellán will join the Bullock Texas State History Museum this Thursday, October 10 at 7 pm for a screening of The Faculty followed by a discussion and Q&A. The film screens as part of the Museum's Texas Focus Film Series, presenting films filmed by, for, and about Texans. The Faculty, directed by Rodriguez and produced by Avellán, has become a cult classic since its release in 1998. The sci-fi horror film follows a group of students who suspect their teachers are aliens after a series of bizarre occurrences. The film was shot in Austin and other Texas cities and stars Josh Hartnett, Jordana Brewster, Elijah Wood, Jon Stewart and Salma Hayek. "The Faculty feels like a fun time capsule from the 90s. Rodriguez and Avellán created a film that boosted film-making in Austin and epitomized an era, from its soundtrack to its glamour-grunge style," said Rachel Manning, Film Programs Manager at the Bullock Museum. Now in its fourth season, the Bullock Museum's Texas Focus Film Series explores the Texas narrative through Texas-based talent, relevant storytelling, and the expansive Texas backdrop. This season, the series focuses on films shot in Austin and includes screenings of Andrew Bujalski's Support the Girls, Joel and Ethan Coen's Blood Simple, Richard Linklater's Slacker, and others.
