The Burnett Project currently consists of four separate tenements totalling 138 km² located near Monto in southeast Queensland. The project includes the Yarrol and Mount Steadman gold prospect areas. This application is contiguous with EPM 12834 “Mount Steadman” also held by Xtreme Resources Ltd. The style of gold mineralisation sought in all areas is of the intrusive-related, IRG, Permo Carboniferous Intrusives. The project area falls within the northern New England Fold Belt, which consists mostly of a complex volcanic arc - continental margin succession related to a Carboniferous subduction complex. The subduction complex underwent extension with a period of compressive easterly-directed thrusting in the Late Permian. Granitoid emplacement accompanied the extensional events as well as extensive Triassic volcanism. North-northwest shears, such as the Perry Fault and northeast cross-cutting faults, dominate the structural framework. Overprinting this regional fabric are north-trending faults, which exhibit a strong spatial relationship with Permian to Triassic mineralisation. Several Late Permian to Cretaceous age porphyries of the New England Fold Belt occur in relatively narrow zones roughly parallel to the Perry Fault. Host intrusives range from quartz diorite, granodiorite to granite/rhyolite composition. Multiple intrusions, breccias and pebble dykes are common. Mineralisation ranges from copper, copper/gold to gold. The largest copper porphyry in the region is Coalstoun (85 million tonnes grading 0.3% copper). Mount Rawdon, a large breccia pipe, (1987 resource estimate of 22 million tonnes grading 1.2 g/t gold and 4.2 g/t silver) is currently being mined. EPM 15426 “Gooroolba" – Relinquishment Report 2008 1.0 INTRODUCTION Exploration Permit for Minerals (EPM) 15426 “Gooroolba” was acquired by Xtreme Resources to explore mainly for gold but also base metals. The tenement forms part of Xtreme’s Burnett Gold Project. 2.0 LOCATION AND ACCESS Exploration Permit for Minerals (EPM) 15426 is located 25km west-northwest of the regional centre of Biggenden in Southeast Queensland Main access to the area is via the Mt Perry - Gooroolba road, with internal access by secondary roads and farm property tracks. The tenement is centred on about 25° 27' S, 151° 49' E. The area lies on the Mount Perry (9247) 1:100 000 sheet which forms part of the Maryborough (SG 56-06) 1:250 000 sheet. The area is essentially used for cattle grazing. Figure 1 EPM 15426 and area Topography. EPM 15426 “Gooroolba" – Relinquishment Report 2008 Figure 2. The Carboniferous subduction complex underwent extension with a period of compressive easterly-directed thrusting in the Late Permian. Granitoid emplacement accompanied the extensional events as well as extensive Triassic volcanism. The structural framework is dominated by NNW linears (subduction parallel), such as the Mt Perry Fault, and NE linears. Overprinting this regional fabric are N-oriented linears which exhibit a strong spatial relationship with Permian-Triassic mineralisation. 5.0 PROJECT GEOLOGY EPM application “Gooroolba” is intended to form part of Xtreme Resources Limited’s Burnett Gold-Copper Project. The style of gold mineralisation sought in all areas is of the intrusive- related type and may be described as porphyry mineralisation. The project area falls within the northern New England Fold Belt, which consists mostly of a complex volcanic arc - continental margin succession related to a Carboniferous subduction complex. The subduction complex underwent extension with a period of compressive easterly- directed thrusting in the Late Permian. Granitoid emplacement accompanied the extensional events as well as extensive Triassic volcanism. North-northwest shears, such as the Perry Fault and northeast cross-cutting faults, dominate the structural framework. Overprinting this regional EPM 15426 “Gooroolba" – Relinquishment Report 2008 fabric are north-trending faults, which exhibit a strong spatial relationship with Permian to Triassic mineralisation. Alteration is typically quartz-pyrite-sericite assemblages, which grade outward to chlorite-clay zones. Potassic (biotite) cores are present sometimes. The Chowey Granite appears pink with minor quartz veining in hand specimen. No drill holes are recorded in the terra search data base, or water bore holes in the Australian Regional 1:250,000 topography. Fiver Water Mills were evident within the lease. The lower unit of the Gympie Group is known as the Biggenden Beds and hosts the Ban Ban zinc lod, a metasomatic replacement type depost, south of the Gooroolba EPM. The Mingo Granite varies from a muscovite-biotite granite to a biotite granodiorite and migmatite. The Chowey Granite is dominantly a hornblende-biotite granite. This granite complex is strongly associated with several Au+Ag/Bi/Mo prospects of the Chowey goldfield, in particular Mt Steadman. Triassic intrusive include an undifferentiated Early to Middle Triassic intrusive complex and the Degilbo Granite. This undifferentiated intrusive complex composed of hornblende diorite to tonalite, quartz monzonite and quart diorite, dominantly outcropping in the Walla Range are. • Anglo Saxons Can't Communicate
Anglo Saxons Can't communicate I, THE AUTHOR, AT LEFT, AGED NINE, WAS DETERMINED TO BREAK THE LACK-OF-TALKING-CYCLE FROM ONE OF THE MOST REMOTE AND (NON TALKING) PARTS OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE. MY BROTHER PAUL IS ALSO PICTURED. It seems that many of us Anglo Saxons are happy to die with all our jobs up to date, but in no way knowing very much of our genes or family tree. A huge body of knowledge and experience will therefore never be shared around for notionally English people. Many will say: “who cares.” In Australia, high suicide rates of Anglo Saxon youths accompany this lack of extended family. I further have discovered that Anglo Saxon commication skills are about equivalent to those of furry penguins. Can anything be done to remedy this? Read on, or just buy the book when it comes out. Preface (an appeal to all non-English folk who like talking) Can you please assist us stiff-upper-lip folk to discover and value our extended families. While you are at it, we need your help to see a meal as more than an impediment to our busy programs, and to string a meal out for several hours, during which time we need to stop thinking about protocol and building monuments and find out what is in the hearts of our friends and family. We need to learn to talk for pleasure and stop banging on about procedural matters and infrastructure creation. While you ethnic minorities are at it, can you please help us find our talking gene so that improved relationships might discourage some of our youth suicides and prevent some of us from getting plonked into aged care facilities when we become an impediment in the infrastructure we helped to create.

ROBERTSON 72 CAINOZOIC VOLCANIC ROCKS IN THE BUNDABERG - GIN GIN - PIALBA AREA, QUEENSLAND by A.D. Robertson ABSTRACT. Six periods of volcanic activity have been recognized during the Cainozoic Era in the southern portion of the Bundaberg and the northern part of the Maryborough 1:250 000 sheet areas. Most have been short lived (less than 15 to 2 Ma) and all are of limited areal extent. The composition of the lavas vary with successive eruptive periods. The Palaeocene to early Eocene volcanics (Gin Gin and Pemberton Grange Basalts) are dominantly theoleiitic in composition. By the mid-Miocene, alkali basalt was being extruded. Moderately to strongly undersaturated lavas (Tararan and Maroondan Melanephelinites) were extruded during the Pliocene, and by the Pleistocene the magma composition had changed back towards the alkali basalt — hawaiite field. The late Pleistocene Berrembea Basalt exhibits a range of composition from moderately undersaturated to lava having tholeiitic affinities. The Tararan Melanephelinite with its entrained upper mantle — lower crustal xenoliths implies magma generation in the upper mantle with a direct passage through the crust.
