HPE Infrastructure as Code for Synergy Service HPE Consulting Services for Synergy

Service background HPE Synergy is a Composable Infrastructure solution that provides a flexible IT infrastructure managed through a single interface or unified API that composes pools of compute, storage, and fabric into the exact configuration specified for a wide range of applications. The ability to code and compose is a key component of the HPE Synergy platform that provides a new approach to deployment and updates for Composable Infrastructure. HPE Synergy Image Streamer management appliance works with HPE Synergy Composer for software-defined control of OS provisioning.

HPE Synergy Image Streamer uses a new approach to OS and application provisioning enabling applications to run from first boot helping applications get online significantly faster than with traditional deployment tools. HPE Synergy Image Streamer provides greater agility to the Customer’s IT operations by allowing OS and application patching to be completed in a single reboot so that upgrades can be completed in a shorter maintenance window. It is designed to reduce operational risk by supporting regression to a previous image version in the time it takes for a single reboot of each server. With the use of HPE Image Streamer, the Customer can remove the requirement for local disks and RAID controllers in each server helping to reduce overall infrastructure expenditure.

To help the Customer deploy the management appliance, HPE Infrastructure as Code for Synergy Service demonstrates to Customer teams how to develop coded scripts and composable processes for use with HPE Synergy compute modules. After the initial demonstrations and discussion with the Customer teams about HPE best practices and Customer objectives for HPE Synergy, a delivery consultant will start the process to allow for the development of reusable code. This is for the purpose of helping the Customer prepare to use it to reliably and repeatedly scale out and launch Customer applications. Service overview HPE Infrastructure as Code for Synergy enables a Customer to rapidly pilot automation and concepts to prove the value that HPE Infrastructure as Code for Synergy can bring to application development and IT operations teams. This service will be offered as a one- or two-week effort, based on the client’s needs. • A demonstrated capability of HPE Synergy platform’s native HPE Synergy Composer and HPE Synergy Image Streamer through a POC on client environment • Demonstration performed through the use of HPE OneView, integrating and/or for rapid deployment of infrastructure through programmatic methods • Face-to-face HPE OneView Fundamentals Training • Face-to-face Chef and Puppet Fundamentals Training • Hands On Automation Training focusing on a Customer specific use case—examples are as follows: ––Continuous deployment ––Bare-metal provisioning and patch management Data sheet Page 2
