Awarded a finalist place in the 2007 BBC Vision Design Competition for Make-up, she went on to become the 2012 World Champion at the International Body Painting Festival in Asia. Employed from 2007 to 2015 at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Hyewon became used to a fast-paced, real-time work environment, with tight deadlines, high expectations and always the possibility of the unexpected.
