St Bega’s School Vision Quiz nights At St Bega’s, we’ve recently revised our vision statement for the school. This is something that a lot of Ladies Lunches organisaons do, and whilst it can sound like a Gentlemens Lunches managerial exercise, it is really just a way of planning. It’s an opportunity to think about what we’re here to do and what our overall To help you enjoy your time here we have:- aims are. 25 Gins 180 Malt Whiskies As a church school, we have been guided by a framework produced by the Church of , the Church of England’s Vision for Educaon. This is based Up to 10 real ales in summer, 3 or more winter around Jesus’ message that he came to ensure that we could experience “abundant life”, or “life in all it’s fullness” (John 10:10). A Chrisan educaon should therefore enable that. There are four main themes: Educang for Wisdom, Knowledge and Skills; Educang for Dignity and Respect; Educang for Community and Living Well Together and Educang for Aspiraon and Hope. This is a very rounded approach and shows that a church school educaon is about much more than simply passing on knowledge to children so that they can pass exams. We have thought deeply about each of these themes, aiming to respect the tradions of St Bega’s and honour the excellent work carried out by previous staff, governors and volunteers. We’ve also taken account of the views of current staff, governors and the children, and have incorporated comments from parents, and from the community. So, thank you for your contribuons! We’ve now developed a new vision statement which builds on our past but also gives us a fresh sense of what we’re aiming to do. Here are some examples of what’s included: • We use innovave and inspiring teaching methods so that children at St Bega’s experience joy, wonder, amazement, fascinaon and delight as they learn. • Children will be encouraged to develop their dreams and will build confidence that they have a posive future. • St Bega’s is a friendly and hospitable school, where everyone is welcomed and valued. • All children at St Bega’s develop both a strong sense of selfworth and the skills to show consideraon for others. We will use our new vision statement over the coming months and years to guide our work and as a way of reminding ourselves of what we’re trying to achieve.
