Microsoft is seeking a self-driven, experienced program manager with a background in e- commerce fraud to join its fraud investigations and strategy team within Commerce Engineering Operations. This global team is the front line of defense against ecommerce fraud and abuse for Microsoft’s major online services, including Azure, Office 365, Xbox Live, Microsoft Advertising, Microsoft Store, and more. Each day this team is presented with situations that require unique and well considered responses to foil relentless fraud attacks.

The fraud strategy program manager will be accountable for ensuring high quality implementation of new anti-fraud measures, system features, analytical and data projects, new operational processes, and other initiatives to continuously improve our fraud prevention strategy. To accomplish this you’ll need to collaborate closely with a wide variety of teams and disciplines across the company, including data scientists, engineers, fraud analysts, investigators, product managers, and more. Success in this role requires tenacity, teamwork, close attention to detail, exceptional communication, and a drive for results to keep pace with the rapid growth of the platform and the complexity of fraud attacks made against it.

• Develop a deep understanding and insight into burning problems using data analysis, technical and novel investigative techniques, and collaboration with subject matter experts within the team and across the company • Conceptualize and implement solutions to help protect Microsoft and its customers from fraud • Author detailed requirement specs, process and system documentation, flow charts, and visualizations to educate, communicate, and influence change • Drive end-to-end delivery of solutions by collaborating closely with partner teams, providing leadership and influence where necessary • Contribute to the team’s operational and investigative needs when incidents and issues arise • Ensure operational excellence and adherence to KPI goals related to fraud and customer experience

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Self-motivated, exceptional team player

• Passion for learning and a desire to improve constantly

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• 3+ years of experience in a program management position

• Subject matter expertise in ecommerce fraud, online payments, or related domain

• Strong organizational, negotiation, leadership, and problem-solving skills • Experience querying, analyzing and drawing intelligent conclusions from large data set

• Advanced user of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant technical area. Relevant experience considered in lieu of a specific degree

• Subject matter expertise in ecommerce fraud, online payments, or related domain

• Experience designing and building monitoring, alerting, and anomaly detection solutions

• Strong knowledge of internet technologies, cloud computing, and cybercrime threats

• Proficiency creating diagrams of complex systems and process flows

• Data analytics and data visualization proficiency (e.g. SQL, Python, Power BI, R, SAS, Tableau, etc.)

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
