DC105/99 SCHEDULE FOUR - DEVELOPMENTS ON WHICH THE OBSERVATIONS OF THE COMMITTEE ARE REQUESTED There were no items submitted for consideration by the Committee.

DC106/99 SCHEDULE FIVE - UNAUTHORISED DEVELOPMENT AND ENFORCEMENT MATTERS No matters were submitted for consideration at this meeting.

DC107/99 PLANNING (LISTED BUILDINGS AND CONSERVATION AREAS) ACT 1990: PART II, SECTIONS 69-70: DESIGNATION OF CONSERVATION AREAS, GREAT LINFORD The Committee considered the merits of extending the Great Linford Conservation Area (designated by Milton Keynes Borough Council, 8 August 1978) in order to preserve or enhance the special interest of the 19th and early 20th century developments associated with the transport revolutions of that period. Consideration of a report, proposing an extension to the Great Linford Conservation Area, was deferred at the meeting on 16 December 1998, to permit a Members’ site visit, to assess the character of the area (Minute DC85/99 refers). The Committee also wished to reconsider the Conservation Area extension together with the planning application for residential development at The Wharf, Great Linford (reference 98/01209/MK). The Committee noted however, that an appeal against non-determination of the application within the statutory eight week period, had since been lodged with the Planning Inspectorate on 7 January 1999; and a revised application had been submitted to the meeting for consideration (reference 99/00066/MK). The Committee, at its meeting on 16 December, wished to pursue an undertaking from the owner of the planning application site, that no further demolition would take place until the matters were resolved and noted that a letter dated 17 December 1998, had been received on 21 December 1998, from Mr James Cooper, giving this undertaking. The Committee also considered a report of the investigation panel, set up at the December meeting to investigate the particular issues raised by officers and Members during consideration of this matter. The panel requested that their findings be addressed and considered fully by the Committee. In particular the panel expressed the view that an independent panel of Members was not the appropriate mechanism for dealing with this type of issue. RESOLVED -

DEVELOPMENT CONTROL 17 FEBRUARY 1999 PAGE 10 COMMITTEE L:\Resources IT\mel\Minutes to be converted\1998-99\enl_Minutes_11157_MINUTES.doc 1. That the Committee thank the three investigation panel Members for their time spent and efforts made in conducting the investigations and notes the comments and considerations made in the report.
