Klingenthal violin makers: an overview

The following list provides the names of violin makers who came from Klingenthal, worked or trained there. It is largely based on Leo von Lütgendorff's 1923 reference classic Die Geigen- und Lautenmacher vom Mittelalter bis zur Gegenwart ("Violinmakers and luthiers from the Middle Ages to the present"), which offers more detailed information about individual masters.
