As a new member of the Metropolitan Section I have enjoyed being involved in a Section that promotes values, history and traditions. Being employed at Innis Arden Golf Club has been a tremendous experience. I can now say I have worked at the same club as William A. Mitchell, Joe Felder, Dave Carazo, Jim Smoot and Gary Murphy, all of whom have had illustrious careers. I work 65-70 hours a week, with an average of 35 hours from private lessons. Weekend mornings in the Golf Shop allow me the opportunity to interact with members and assist with a wide variety of services in the golf operation. When I'm not teaching, many hours are spent developing new and improving existing programs for our adult and junior members. Our strong junior program continues to grow in participation and offerings both with tournaments and educational opportunities. Playing with members as often as possible, both at work and off the clock, is another way in which I continue to serve our membership. As previously mentioned, I've spent two seasons in the Metropolitan Section to pursue a career in teaching golf. Prior to being a Teaching Professional, I competed professionally on the LPGA Symetra Tour and CN Canadian Women's Tour for seven years. While working to become a full-fledged PGA Class A Member, I've thoroughly enjoyed becoming involved in the MET Section and developing achievements in leadership, professional growth and enhancing my playing ability. I've actively participated in multiple volunteer opportunities, competed in a variety of coed and women's tournaments and attended winter and summer educational seminars. Becoming more involved in leadership with the MET Section feeds my goal to complete Levels 2 and 3 of the PGA Education program this winter. The 2015 tournament season has proven to be noteworthy. Sharing success with a team of Innis Arden members in the Lincoln Pro Am at Waccabuc, where I won the 2014 Women's MET Open, was a very proud moment for our members and me. Representing Innis Arden in the upcoming "The Mitch" Pro Am later this month will be a great honor. I have competed in 4 Assistant's Tour events and am currently preparing for the Assistants Tour Championship and the Women's Match Play. The women's events boasted a strong showing with a 10th place finish in the Women's MET Open, 7th in the Connecticut Women's Open and a commanding victory in the Stroke Play with an opening round of 67. The proudest moment of my tournament season was shooting a 2 under 70 in the final round of the LPGA T&CP National Championship to finish 6th and earn a coveted exemption into the 2016 KPMG Women's PGA Championship, representing the Metropolitan Section of the PGA of America. Please consider me for the 2015 Squire Cup Team for the reasons I have listed above. Being an active member of the Metropolitan Section since the start of my local career is exemplary of my excitement and dedication to the PGA of America and the MET Section. I enjoy being employed in this section not only because of the competitions, but because of the camaraderie we have amongst our PGA professionals. Thank you for your time and consideration as I would be honored to represent our Assistants at Fisher's Island in the 2015 Gene Borek Squire Cup. Sincerely, Jessica Carafiello Teaching Professional Innis Arden Golf Club September 5, 2015 Gene Borek Squire Cup Selection Committee c/o Metropolitan PGA 49 Knollwood Road - Suite 200 Elmsford, NY 10523 Dear Selection Committee: It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Jessica Carafiello. Jessica has worked for me at Innis Arden Golf Club since April 2014 and has proven to be a great asset to the golf operation here. I believe that Jessica deserves to be part of the 2015 Gene Borek Squire Cup Team. As my Teaching Professional she is always busy growing the game of golf. At the same time Jessica is a team player who is there to help the members and lend a hand in any part of the operation that is needed. She has the mindset to be the best golf professional she can be whether it is teaching, playing or running a tournament. She is constantly coming up with ideas that help the operation as a whole, from new clinics to how to make member events more fun. Jessica takes pride in

This is a Pod for the Course, and I'm Tom Cade, the Senior Director of Communications for Washington Golf, and today we have with us, Mike Zinga. Mike is the director of sales and sponsorship relations for the Charles Schwab Challenge. The PGA Tour event is happening this week at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Mike, thanks so much for taking a few minutes this morning, on the first day of the tournament. Mike Zinga: Good morning, Tom. Thank you. Appreciate it. I look forward to spending some time with you today. Tom Cade: Yeah. Mike, it's been a bit of a journey. I have known you personally for 10 years or so. You were the tournament director for the U.S. Senior Open, which was held at the Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Washington, 2010. Long time ago. Mike Zinga: Yeah, but I spent almost three years there, if you recall. I moved there in the fall of '07. Tom Cade: That's right. Mike Zinga: And loved it. My family loved it. Tom Cade: Yeah. So was that the first tournament that you were really that heavily involved in to that degree, Mike? I can't remember. Mike Zinga: No, Tom. I'd graduated from a master's program in Florida, in the mid 90s, believe it or not, and worked with the Champions Tour event in Key Biscayne, Florida, called the Royal Caribbean Classic, which led me to Doral.

And today we have with us, Cathy Kim. Cathy is originally from Bellevue, Washington, and she played for four years on the women's golf team at Western Washington University. She is now a dual member of the PGA of America, as well as the LPGA. She was recently named the best young teacher by Golf Digest for 2020 and 2021. And Cathy, thanks so much for taking the time to be with us today. Cathy Kim: Oh, hello. Thanks so much for having me. Tom Cade: So Cathy, where are you based out of right now? I know you're not in the Northwest anymore. Is that correct? Cathy Kim: That is correct. I'm based out of Dulles, Virginia at the 1757 Golf Club. Tom Cade: How long have you been there? Cathy Kim: It's been a little over two years since I've relocated. I actually moved from the Pacific Northwest to Las Vegas, and then from Las Vegas to Virginia. Tom Cade: Let's take a walk back in time here for just a little bit. You grew up in the Bellevue area outside Seattle, is that correct? Cathy Kim: I did. I moved to the Bellevue area when I was a sophomore in high school. I was in the Bay area in California prior to that. Tom Cade: How did you get into the game of golf? When did you first pick up a club and who taught you; who brought you to the golf course for the first time? Cathy Kim: My dad was the first one in our family to pick up golf.
