IPMBA Maintenance Officer Certification Course Do your bikes take a beating? Having an in-house maintenance officer translates into less downtime, fewer expensive repairs, and safer, longer-lasting . This hands-on course will provide you with the skills to maintain your fleet and perform all but the most technical repairs. The curriculum emphasizes preventive maintenance, general repairs, and overhaul of component groups. You will also learn fleet management principles and documentation methods. Bring your bike and tools and prepare to overhaul! Typically offered only at the annual IPMBA Conference, this course involves a complete overhaul of your duty bike as well as extensive diagnostic and hands-on practice. Bringing replacement parts as noted on the tool list is strongly recommended. Lead instructor Derrick Maready is currently the Repair & Assembly Manager of Bike Cycles in Wilmington, North Carolina. He has completed two years of Specialized Bicycle Components University (SBCU) and the Park Tool School Instructor Program. He has been an instructor/coach for Mad March Racing, IMIC, and IMBA, and has taught bike maintenance at the University of North Carolina’s Outdoor Adventure Program.
