Printed in the Netherlands Program of the 61st Annual Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry v Welcome Address On behalf of the Executive Committee of ISE, the Organizing Committee and Symposium Organizers, we warmly welcome you to Nice and look forward to your participation in the 61st Annual Meeting of the ISE, “Electrochemistry from Biology to Physics”, from September 26th to October 1st, 2010. Nice became French 150 years ago in 1860 and it is now the fifth largest town in France. We hope that you will appreciate its sunny and temperate climate and you will find time to walk along the lovely seaside, to see its interesting museums and famous landmarks. You will also appreciate the typical culinary art of Nice in a large number of restaurants to be found everywhere in town. France has a strong tradition in Electrochemistry and has a large number of ISE members. Accordingly, ISE has visited France previously - in 1982 in Lyon and more recently in 1997 in Paris with a joint meeting with ECS. This conference, with 16 different symposia, shows the development of our Society and covers both traditional and new areas of electrochemistry. All the scientific Divisions of ISE are involved and some interdisciplinary symposia are sponsored by two or three divisions. From Biology to Physics, all different aspects of electrochemistry will be represented in this meeting which is the largest ISE Annual meeting by its number of participants, of oral communications and of posters. We welcome all electrochemists and invite you to develop communication between these different fields, to establish new links between researchers and finally to find and cultivate new ideas. • Bede's Ecclesiastical History of England a Revised
BEDE'S ECCLESIASTICAL HISTORY OF ENGLAND A REVISED TRANSLATION WITH INTRODUCTION, LIFE, AND NOTES BY A. M. SELLAR LATE VICE-PRINCIPAL OF LADY MARGARET HALL, OXFORD LONDON GEORGE BELL AND SONS 1907 EDITOR'S PREFACE The English version of the "Ecclesiastical History" in the following pages is a revision of the translation of Dr. Giles, which is itself a revision of the earlier rendering of Stevens. In the present edition very considerable alterations have been made, but the work of Dr. Giles remains the basis of the translation. The Latin text used throughout is Mr. Plummer's. Since the edition of Dr. Giles appeared in 1842, so much fresh work on the subject has been done, and recent research has brought so many new facts to light, that it has been found necessary to rewrite the notes almost entirely, and to add a new introduction. After the appearance of Mr. Plummer's edition of the Historical Works of Bede, it might seem superfluous, for the present at least, to write any notes at all on the "Ecclesiastical History." The present volume, however, is intended to fulfil a different and much humbler function. There has been no attempt at any original work, and no new theories are advanced. The object of the book is merely to present in a short and convenient form the substance of the views held by trustworthy authorities, and it is hoped that it may be found useful by those students who have either no time or no inclination to deal with more important works. Among the books of which most use has been made, are Mr.

  • Flamengo Bate LDU Em Jogo Sofrido Pela Libertadores

  • Curriculum Vitae
Curriculum Vitae Cinzia Chiappe received Laurea (cum laude) and PhD degrees from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 1985 and 1989, respectively. After a two years period at the Regional Agency for Environmental Protection, she moved to the Department of Bioorganic Chemistry (University of Pisa) as a researcher. Since 2002 she is Full Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Pisa. Her primary research interests focus on the ionic liquids (ILs) chemistry and their application. Using the tools of physico- organic chemistry her research group is dedicated to obtain information on ILs and their physico-chemical and biological properties, often correlating experimental results with theoretical calculations. In this field, she has developed several projects that using these “designer solvents” as novel media and catalysts have allowed to develop new and more sustainable chemical processes affording a lot of new compounds and materials. Goal of her research work is indeed to develop new classes of optimized ILs to apply as solvents and/or catalysts in real-world problems: in other words to provide more effective chemical reactions or to develop novel platforms for more efficient extractions, separations and, in general, energy-saving processes. She has been several times principal investigator for research programs funded by Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR), MIUR (Prin 2003), Fundations (CaRiPi “Sviluppo di Nuovi Liquidi Ionici da Utilizzare come Additivi nell’Industria delle Vernici” 2008-2009, CaRiPi “Nuovi sistemi polimerici con funzionalità elettriche ed ottiche ottenuti per micro e nano-dispersione adesiva e loro impiego come materiali e dispositivi per applicazioni intelligenti” 2011-2014), Regione Toscana (Innovazione ed ecocompatibilità nella tintura di tessuti in poliestere e bambù, 2008) and European Community (Iolisurf, 2007-2011; SWAN-Icare 2012-2016).
