Army-Navy Weekend or the 12th year, Freedom Alliance hosted the traditional Army-Navy Weekend December 1-3, 2005 in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia. This Fannual event offers Freedom Alliance supporters an exciting and extraordi- nary opportunity to enjoy time with Freedom Alliance Founder and Honorary Chairman Oliver North and President Tom Kilgannon, along with other distin- guished leaders and guests. The weekend’s highlight was the Freedom Alliance 15th Anniversary Gala with General Tommy Franks, USA (Ret.), the recipient of the “Defender of Freedom” Award (see story above). Friday, December 2, featured a full day of VIP tours and briefings, concluding with a ten-course dinner at President Bush’s favorite Chinese restaurant, The Peking Gourmet Inn in Falls Church, Virginia. The premier showing of Freedom Alliance’s new Military Leadership Academy DVD/video, was presented with an introduction by Freedom Alliance Director of Student Programs Calvin Coolidge. Martha Zoller, daily radio talk show host at WDUN in Gainesville, Georgia, spoke of her recent trip to Kuwait and Iraq, includ- ing her live broadcast from Iraq. Support Our Troops Holiday Project by Jamie Critchfield The Freedom Alliance Support Our Troops program is a year-round outreach to honor and support members of our armed forces - those who were wounded in Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom and recuperating at U.S. military hospitals throughout the United States - as well as those currently serving on the front lines. These brave men were injured in the war and their families were burdened with financial difficulties upon their return. Among the families “adopted,” was a Marine family of five children in Pennsylvania, who had their Christmas wishes fulfilled when Freedom Alliance provided games, toys and a big screen TV, which the family requested for their visually dis- abled daughter.
