This is the seventh time that Goosen has led or shared the lead through two rounds. The last time was the 2005 TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola. Of the six previous events, he has one victory. Both of Goosen’s top-10 finishes last year on the PGA TOUR came at events (T2 at the CA Championship and T4 at the Bridgestone Invitational).

Goosen’s low round on the PGA TOUR is a 62 at the 2002 World Golf Championships-American Express Championship. His 64 on Friday matches his second-lowest round on TOUR, which he has done nine previous times.

Goosen’s 68-64–132 total is the second-lowest thru 36 holes of his PGA TOUR career. He has twice shot a 36-hole total of 130. First at the 2002 World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational and again at the 2005 TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola.

Dustin Johnson’s 65-69–134 total is the lowest 36-hole total of his career. His previous low was 66-69–135 at the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee last year.

Johnson finished T7 last year in his first appearance at Pebble Beach.

Dustin Johnson played his first 18 holes bogey free at Pebble Beach Golf Links on Thursday. His second round at Spyglass was marked by one blemish, a double bogey at the par 4 17th hole, his eighth hole of the day after starting on No. 10.

Johnson’s previous best standing through 36 holes was 7th at the 2008 Turning Stone Resort, when he went on to record his first PGA TOUR win.

Charley Hoffman finished his day with a birdie on his 17th hole (hole No. 8) and eagled the par 5 ninth hole to finish his round at 8-under-par for the tournament, four strokes off the lead and tied for third. Hoffman is looking for his third consecutive top-10 finish of the season, matching his total from last season. In 331 previous starts on the PGA TOUR, Hoffman has never had three consecutive top-10 finishes.

At 6th place, Hoffman is the highest-ranked player without a victory in the early FedExCup standings. He has shot par or better in 14 of 15 rounds so far this season.

Mike Weir followed Thursday’s 67 at Poppy Hills with a 69 on Friday at Pebble Beach Golf Links and is T3 at 8-under-par. Weir has six top-10s in 11 starts at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

Only five players since 1970 (and two since 1993) have made the AT&T their first win on the PGA TOUR: John Cook (1981), Steve Jones (1988), Brett Ogle (1993), Matt Gogel (2002) and Arron Oberholser (2006).

Bill Lunde, Bob Heintz, Todd Fischer, and Glen Day shot bogey-free rounds on Friday. Lunde is the only player in the field who is bogey free thru all 36 holes.
