OVERVIEW AFFECTED LOCATIONS Nigeria's North Central and North West Zones are afflicted with a mul�dimensional crisis that is rooted in long-standing tensions between ethnic and religious groups and involves a�acks by criminal groups and banditry/hirabah (such as kidnapping and grand larceny along major highways). The crisis has accelerated during the past NIGER REPUBLIC years because of the intensifica�on of a�acks and has resulted in widespread displacement across the region. Sokoto Yobe Between 30 Augsut and 05 September 2021, armed clashes between herdsmen and farmers; and bandits and local communi�es have led to new waves of popula�on displacement. Following these events, rapid assessments were conducted by DTM (Displacement Tracking Matrix) field staff with the purpose of informing the human- itarian community and government partners, and enable targeted response. Flash Jigawa reports u�lise direct observa�on and a broad network of key informants to gather Zamfara 2520 representa�ve data and collect informa�on on the number, profile and immediate Kano Bauchi needs of affected popula�ons. A total of 57 casual�es were reported and 387 shelters were burnt in the LGAs Sabuwa, Faskari, Matazu and 64 Bakori in and Otukpo LGA in .
