Amref Health Africa in Malawi in conjunction with are inviting applications from interested Individuals to join our squad of superheroes – the international Dance4Life pool of trainers called the Trainers4Life. The Trainers4Life are a group of carefully selected young leaders who are passionate about training young people to become champions of youth empowerment and sexual & reproductive health and rights. They become our consultants to deliver trainings in their region and promote youth leadership and adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights. At Dance4Life, we offer a training journey focused on sexual and reproductive health and rights. The participants complete a face-to-face Training of Trainers in and then join our pool of trainers, the Trainers4Life, and continue on a personal leadership journey through our online Academy, community management and opportunities to train young change makers, speak at conferences and events and to share within our global network of trainers.

THE EXPERIENCE OF A TRAINER4LIFE

The Trainer4Life journey is a 2-year experience, each trainer will;

1. Feel empowered and inspired to become a Trainer4Life because of the impact we want to make at Dance4Life: empowering young people and contribute to decreasing three of the biggest sexual health threats that young people face these days: HIV, unwanted pregnancies and sexual and gender based violence. 2. Become experienced in creative methodologies which are engaging and empowering for youth with strong facilitation skills especially in experiential learning, asking generative questions, referring young people to information and sexual health services and activating young people to gain community support. 3. Join the Academy4Life interactive learning platform to develop their personal, professional and SRHR skills together with coaches and experts, enhancing their career and leadership potential 4. Gain skills for developing self-awareness and awareness of others, using the language of possibility and learning what authenticity is and how to be authentic. 5. Join an international community of young trainers where they can exchange, learn, create and develop their training skills. 6. Feel responsible and accountable for professional growth as a trainer and the sharing of information to fellow Trainers4Life.

Dance4Life also supports the trainers to apply for scholarships to international conferences and opportunities for young trainers globally.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 Young people aged between 18 and 28  At least 2 years’ experience as a trainer or facilitator  Is creative and believes in the power of young people to make a change  Will commit to being a Trainer4Life for the next 2 years  Is available and able to travel to other countries  Can deliver a full two-day training in English and their local languages

HOW TO APPLY To be part of the Dance4Life international pool of trainers you need to do the following three steps: 1. Make a short video (max. 5 minutes) in which you convince us about why we should choose you to join this pool of trainers. Show us more about yourself, tell us about your experience as a trainer and leader in your country and be creative! Show us what you got

– showcase your best talents and uniqueness. If you have been a part of a Dance4Life program tell us about your role in that or other relevant experience. 3. Share a second video where you facilitate an engaging activity for a group of participants. Let us feel your energy and discover your training style. You can do this activity in English or in your local language.
