Painting Class Outline: Class 5 & 6: I will be introducing a variety of from Class 1: various movements and styles during the whole course. You will pick one or two of them is your basic foundation in painting.You will and create a painting in their . You will be learn basic color principles and complete a series working on these paintings for the last two of color studies. Color wheel (primary/secondary, classes putting your newly learned knowledge to complementary), transparency/opacity, , value work. (intensity, brightness), chroma (saturation, purity) & temperature (warm/cold). In all classes we will have a critique to help you ​ learn from each other. Most importantly you will access your individuality and and become more comfortable using and color. I will provide demos, feedback, a critical eye, encouragement. Oil or acrylics? If you don’t know give them both ​ a try and see what happens. I will provide basic paints and some surfaces to work on. You will have to buy one or two for the final project.

Class 2: How do different interact with each other? You will learn about complementary, analogous, monochromatic and split complementary colors and the cultural, psychological associations of color.

Class 3: Composition: How do you create a strong composition that goes along with your (realistic or abstract)? Complete various studies using space, movement, balance, scale, , proportion, unity.
