It feels great to be an emerging leader in such a wonderful orga- nization! I just recently attended my first conference in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the 67th Central States District Conference. I learned so much about the Senior Division of the organization and how we conduct business. I was a Junior Daughter for many years in my hometown of Opelousas, Louisiana, and I’m making the transi- tion into the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary in my current home of Little Rock. Since this was my first conference in the Ladies Auxiliary, it was my first experience learning about and meeting other Emerging Leaders. I met two young ladies from Nashville, Ladies Stephanie Colter and Yvonne Burtrand. Meeting them inspired me to encour- age other young women of Catholic faith to join our beloved orga- nization. I look forward to assisting Junior Daughters who are ready to make the transition into the Senior Division. My Grand Lady and Emerging Leaders with Supreme Knight F. DeKarlos Blackmon at the Vice Grand Lady here at Court 224 in Little Rock supported me 67th Annual Central States District Conference in Little Rock, Arkansas. and made sure I did not fall through the cracks. It is due to that love and support that makes me want to extend that same courtesy to Court #224 others. Our priorities often change as we grow older, but I pray that Little Rock, Arkansas I never lost sight of what the Knights of Saint Peter Claver Ladies – Submitted by Anngelica Barrow Auxiliary means to me. 8 Message from the National Chaplain

Newly elected Junior Daughter Counselor jumped right to task by hosting events to grow our Junior Daughter numbers. Af- ter being initiated into our noble order in September, Lady Gerri Drummond was elected Junior Daughter Counselor in Decem- ber. Lady Gerri, who has a passion for youth ministry and is our parish Youth Minister, as well as Confirmation Catechist, went right to work by organizing a Christmas Tea for girls and young ladies. Also in attendance at the tea were current members, as well as some of the Ladies of Court 379. An open meeting was held on January 26, 2013, and Initiation was held on February 16, 2013. Nine young ladies became members of Court 379. Following the initiation service, election of officers was held. First and foremost, the Juniors Daughters will be working on fundrais- ing in order to attend upcoming conferences. 56 2013 resolutions The Claverite | Summer Issue 2013 | www.kofpc.org 57 2013 resolutions 58 2013 resolutions 59
