Two (2) round robin groups of 4 players. Semi-final: winner group A versus runner up group B, winner group B versus runner up group A; all positions to be played out from 1-8 in the playoff. Format Of Play Singles – Best of three sets. First two (2) sets tiebreak. A 10-point match tiebreak instead of the third set. Singles final – Best of three sets. All three (3) sets tiebreak. The first 2 sets 7 point tiebreak at 6 games all. The final set 10 point tiebreak at 6 games all. Entry Close Date and Invitational event: 6 Asia, 1 Pacific/Oceania, 1 Australia; Players have to confirm participation by Friday 1 November 2019. Eligibility Players must have been born on or after 1 January 2005 to be eligible. Surface GreenSet Hardcourt Ball Dunlop AO All players must attend the pre-tournament meeting at the official tournament hotel – Melbourne Parkview. The draw and schedule Draw & Dinner for the first day will be released at this meeting. The official dinner will take place at the Parkview Hotel on Sunday 26 January at 7pm in Boulevard Rooms 1 & 2. There is a Meet & Greet at 11.30am on Monday 27 January at Melbourne Park with various dignitaries involved with the event. This Meet & Greet is compulsory for all players. Two practice courts will be available at Albert Reserve from 1-6pm. Due to the limited availability, slots will be pre-allocated and advised nearer the time. Albert Reserve Melbourne Park Practice Courts 1:00PM – 6:00PM Tuesday 28 – Thursday 30 January 2020 Monday 27 January 2020 Limited availability 14&under accreditation will be available for collection from Sunday 26 January 2020 Accreditation 14&under accreditation passes are valid from Sunday 26 – Thursday 30 January 2020 The official accommodation is the Melbourne Parkview Hotel. All 14&u players will be required to share hotel rooms with fellow players in twin rooms. On top of covering the players’ accommodation and breakfast, one (1) official coach per nation will also receive free accommodation and breakfast. Coaches are not permitted to book or share a room with a Junior Player. Players Accommodation that are choosing to share with their parents will not be receiving free accommodation. There will be the option for additional coaches and players to book room at the official accommodation at their own expense. All accommodation must be booked by 10 November, 2019. All 14&under players and one (1) official coach from each nation from Asia and the Pacific will be receiving a travel grant of maximum of AUD $ 750 upon presentation of appropriate travel receipts. Travel Grant and A bus service will operate once daily between the 14& Under Elite Tournament hotel and Melbourne Park. A bus will leave the Transport hotel at 9am each day and will return to the hotel from Melbourne Park at 6pm. At all other times during the day and after 6pm, players can use the AO Junior Transport going to the Bayview Eden Hotel and then walk to the official hotel (schedule TBA). Any players choosing to walk between the hotels much be accompanied by an adult. Players and one (1) official coach per country will receive a daily electronic meal allowance (EMA) to be used in the Junior Player Meal Allowance Cafe. This will continue up to and including the day of their final match.
