PIT ASSIGNMENTS FOR DAYTONA 200 PARTICIPANTS Formula Xtreme pit assignments for the race will be made as follows:

Top ten qualifiers will have first pick by order of qualifying. After final qualifying, AMA officials

will contact the top ten qualifiers concerning their pit locations.

The remainder of the field will be assigned their pit locations in the order of their qualifying position. Pit location can be identified by the corresponding pit number located on the fence directly behind each pit box. A diagram of pit assignments will be posted Friday morning by 10:00am at the tech building.

Participants in the Daytona 200 must affix their assigned competition number on the track side of the pit wall, in their assigned pit space. Competitors must remove the numbers at the conclusion of the event.

The dress code for pit road will be enforced. Approved team uniforms must be worn by team members.

The following requirements apply to any rider, team, manufacturer or service provider involved in the display or sales of products or services of any kind in the paddock area:

Any parties that intend to display or sell products or services in the paddock may do so only by prior written arrangement with AMA Racing.

Promoters will be notified of the normal, necessary technical and tire service providers for the events.

Others will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Signage of all sponsors is allowed in the paddock area on trucks and transporters unless such signage is determined to be unwholesome or otherwise inappropriate by the AMA Racing Manager on site or the event promoter.

HAZARDOUS WASTE DISPOSAL It is the responsibility of each rider to remove tires, batteries, fuel drums and any other materials deemed to be hazardous waste at the conclusion of the event.

No fuel may be distributed by vendors or suppliers on Daytona property. Teams must make arrangements to take delivery of fuel off of Daytona property.

RACES The maximum number of riders for all final events is 70. Pole position is left side. Riders may only continue to practice in classes that they have earned a grid position for.

If a race is stopped with 3 or less laps completed by the leader it will be restarted at the beginning of lap one using original starting positions.

Track Cuts Cutting the track is not allowed at any time. Hay bale chicanes are set up and clearly identified in areas where cutting the track is common; Turn 1 and the chicane. Riders who fail to negotiate a turn must proceed through a hay bale chicane, if available, and then safely blend back into traffic. Failure to proceed through a hay bale chicane after missing a turn or cutting the track in an area where no hay bale chicane is available will result in the rider being charged with a Track Cut. During practice or qualifying the rider will loose his/her current and next lap. Any rider with 3 or more Track Cuts in one practice or qualifying session will be disqualified from that session. Should a rider be disqualified from a qualifying session due to Track Cuts, the rider will grid by his/her times from a prior or subsequent qualifying session. If no other qualifying times are available the rider will grid at the back of the field provided his/her lap times prior to disqualification were fast enough to qualify for the event. Any rider charged with a Track Cut during a race will be assessed a ride-through penalty even if no advantage was gained. If there are not enough laps remaining to assess a ride through penalty, a 20 second time penalty will be assessed.

DAYTONA 200 FORMULA XTREME REGULATIONS Rear wheel sprocket and brake rotor must remain with the wheel assembly when removed from the swing arm. No additional modifications to the swing arm and rear brake system beyond those specified in “Formula Xtreme Equipment Standards” are permitted.

Front wheel removal must be accomplished by removal of the axle from the wheel and forks. If any rotation of the lower fork assemblies is required for the removal of the front wheel, it must be done manually. The use of any device (springs; ramps; cams; etc.) to cause fork lowers to rotate during wheel removal and installation is prohibited. The use of any devices such as ledges or ramps to guide and or hold the front wheel assembly into the axle insertion position is prohibited.

NEW PIT STOP REFUELING PROCEDURES 1. During the refueling process, the rider is not permitted to be on his machine. 2. The ignition must be off and the motorcycle must be on a rear stand before any refueling is permitted to start. 3. Riders must straddle the motorcycle until it comes to a complete stop. Riding sidesaddle is not permitted.

Five crew members, plus one designated crew member to operate a fire extinguisher, are allowed on the track side of the pit lane wall for servicing and tire changes.

Radio communication between rider and crew is permitted.

A motorcycle entered in Supersport may also enter Formula Xtreme.

Daytona SRs v01.24.08 4 PACE CAR The pace car will be located at the exit of the International Horseshoe where it is visible to riders exiting turn 2. Should the pace car be dispatched it will stay out for a minimum of three laps and the following rules and procedures shall apply:

The pace car flag (blue flag with yellow stripe) will be waved at all corner stations and displayed stationary at start/finish. The yellow lights on all safety vehicles and the track warning lights on the banking will be illuminated. Passing is not permitted once the yellow lights are turned on and the pace car flag is displayed.

Riders will proceed quickly around the track to join the field behind the pace car. Riders should use extra caution and slow their progress through the area of the incident.

A system of clear, easy to understand lights on the pace car’s light bar will direct riders around the car until the leader of the race is behind the pace car. A red light indicates hold behind the pace car, a green light indicates a rider may pass the pace car on the left side of the car. Only one rider may pass for each time the green light is displayed.

Riders waived past the pace car should proceed quickly around the track to join the back of the field behind the pace car. Riders waived past the pace car that do not appear to be attempting to catch up with the field will receive a meatball flag and should report to pit lane so that riders behind them may catch up with the field. Riders should use extra caution and slow their progress through the area of the incident until waiving yellow flags are no longer displayed.

The exit of pit road will be closed from the time the pace car reaches start/finish until the pace car and the trailing pack have cleared turn 2. Riders waiting to be released from pit lane must form a single file line so their running order is maintained when released. An AMA Official will release the riders waiting at the pit exit when reopened.

Riders waived around the pace car will be given a reasonable number of laps to catch back up to the field unless they choose to enter pit lane.

On the final pace car lap prior to returning to green flag racing the pace car, all safety vehicles and the track warning lights will be turned off. This indicates the pace car will be pulling off at the conclusion of the current lap and racing will resume.

The pace car will exit the track onto pit lane and may not be passed by any rider choosing to enter the pit lane until the pace car has turned to exit the pit lane and then must pass on the right side of the pace car.

Once the pace car exits the track, the lead rider will control the pace of the field and should bring the field to the start/finish line at a moderate pace until the green flag is displayed. Riders should continue single file and maintain a tight field with no more than two bike lengths between each motorcycle. Attempting to slow down for the purpose of “getting a run” on the motorcycle in front you may result in a ride-through penalty.

Passing is not allowed until after the lead rider has passed start/finish once the green flag is displayed.

SIGNAL AREA The Signal Area is between turns 3 and 4 on riders' left, at the turn 3 exit area.

Access is restricted to personnel presenting a valid crew credential and who meets the dress code as outlined in the 2008 AMA Superbike Championship Rulebook. Each rider is permitted a maximum of two team personnel in the signal area. Team personnel must stay in the area designated for signaling.

Signaling is not permitted in any other area.

One umbrella person Race Start wristband per rider is available at tech. The umbrella person must be accompanied to tech by the rider or riders crew chief in order to obtain the Race Start wristband. While in the hot pits, umbrella persons using a Race Start wristband, must be escorted by a member of the team they represent at all times.
