The administration and faculty want you to make good choices, not inhibit your style. Prom should be a fun and memorable evening for everyone. However, we want you to be comfortable and safe.

With that in mind, the following dress code guidelines will be enforced for CHS students and their dates. While we will be reasonable in our interpretation of guidelines, we want you to know that you will not be allowed to enter Prom if you are dressed inappropriately.

If at any time during Prom you become out of dress code, you will be removed from the building by administration or security officer. should be modestly cut in the front as not to show too much cleavage; plunging necklines are not allowed.

Two – piece dresses will be allowed ONLY if the and the overlap at the waistband while standing. Midriffs will not be exposed. This includes both front and sides. See-through tops or -top-type dresses are not acceptable.

Dresses may not be cut below the bust line on the sides. With your arms down at your side, if flesh touches flesh below the bust line on the sides, the dress in inappropriate.

Dresses may be backless as long as they are not cut below the naval.

Dresses may not have a slit that exceeds mid-thigh. This is fingertip length. Dress length must not be shorter than mid-thigh ( approximately 4” inches above the middle of the knee both in the front and in the back)

Strapless dresses are not allowed. If straps are sewn onto a strapless dress, the straps must be at least ½” to 1” in width. All dress alterations must be permanent. No quick fixes at the door! Fabric inserts that make the dress acceptable must be sewn to the dress, not pinned, taped, or Velcro. No cover-ups (, wraps, etc) will be allowed over the dresses in order to make them meet dress code.

If at any time during Prom a student becomes out of dress code, they will be removed from Prom without refund and parents called. Body piercing, tattoos and hair code

Not allowed – • Body piercing jewelry except in the ears of female students • Visible tattoos • Cosmetic contact lenses of a color not natural to a person or patterned lenses unless prescribed by a doctor. • Hair colors not natural to a person (i.e. green, orange, purple, etc) or spiked hair. Male Hair Code – • The length of the hair of make students and dates must not be long enough to extend below the eyebrow, extend completely over the collar, or be excessively full on the sides or in the back. The hair may not extend ot cover over one-half of the ear and sideburns must not extend past the ear lobe nor should they extend forward on the face. All male students should be clean shaven (beards and mustaches are not permitted. Any design in the hair in not allowed.
