Au regard des dernières ventes, le marché du galopeur se porte bien, et tout particulièrement celui à vocation obstacle. Nos chers AQPS n’ont jamais autant suscité d’engouement de la part de nos amis anglo- saxons, au point que notre élevage semble ne plus suffire à pourvoir une demande toujours croissante. Il est évident que la qualité et les résultats de nos produits sur les hippodromes français et d’outre-manche, sont à la base du phénomène et je tiens à féliciter tous les éleveurs pour leur savoir-faire et les succès qui les récompensent. Mais je voudrais aussi mettre en avant, le travail de construction de cette réussite par l’association des AQPS qui a su doter la race d’un stud-book pour l’identifier et d’un programme de course qui lui permet de mûrir en toute sérénité. N’oublions pas que le programme réservé nous apporte bien souvent le sésame pour la vente chez les 3 ans ! Si aujourd’hui, les acheteurs étrangers en viennent à «faire leur marché» à l’amiable directement dans les prés, il ne faut pas oublier que ce mouvement a été initié par l’appel des concours et shows, lesquels continuent d’attirer une clientèle internationale de plus en plus nombreuse. De fait, les efforts de chacun doivent se concentrer sur la présentation de la plus belle vitrine de notre élevage en un lieu unique le jour J. Garantes de la vitalité de notre race, vos associations régionales, unies au sein de l’Association Nationale des AQPS, en assurent aussi la promotion et c’est là tout l’intérêt de ce 16ème Show AQPS du Lion d’Angers que je vous propose de découvrir aujourd’hui.
