iPad Set Up Guide

1. Turn on the iPad by pressing the button on the top right edge. 2. On the Hello screen, swipe to begin. 3. Choose English as the primary language. 4. Select United States as the country. 5. Select Bethel as the wifi network. This may take a minute or two to set up. If it says “No Network Setup” click OK and try again. 6. Click Next at the top right of the screen. 7. There should be a screen that says, “Location Services.” Click Enable Location Services.” 8. There should be a screen that says “Bethel School District will automatically configure your iPad.” Click Next at the top right of the screen. 9. On the Log In screen enter my.bethel credentials. For staff, this should be the log in and password they use when they log into their email or my.bethelsd.org. Students will typically use their student ID as their log in. 10. Click Next at the top right of the screen. There should be a screen that says “Installing configuration from Bethel School District 403.” The screen will be the Apple ID screen.

11. Click Sign In with Your Apple ID and enter the Apple ID and password. Terms & Conditions 12. Click Next at the top right of the screen. 13. There should be a screen that has the Terms and Conditions on it. Click Agree at the bottom right had corner of the screen. 14. There should be a small white pop up box with Terms and Conditions again. Click Agree again in the box. There should be a screen that says “It may take a few minutes to set up your Apple ID…” iCloud 15. The next screen there should be is for iCloud 16. Click “Don’t Use iCloud” There should be a small white pop up box with the question, ‘Are you sure you don’t want to use iCloud?” Click “Don’t Use” If they would like to set this up at home, they are welcome to. 17. There may be a screen that says, “Welcome to iPad” Click “Get Started” Click and the home screen should appear. There may be a prompt to update the iOS. Preferably, they do this later at home. It does not need to be done for Set Up. Self-Service Set Up: a.k.a. Bethel

18. Once on the home screen, wait for Self Service to automatically populate. It may take several minutes. 19. There will be a white pop-up box that says, “Allow App and Book Assignment” Click Continue. 20. There will be a larger white pop-up box that says, “Terms and Conditions and Apple Privacy Policy…” Scroll down and click Agree. 21. There will be another small white pop-up that says “Do you agree to the terms and conditions…” Click agree. 22. There will be a large white pop-up box that says, “Allow Assignment…the organization can now assign apps and books to you.” Click OK. 23. Go to Self Service 24. If it prompts you to download all Apple Apps, decline. 25. The prompt “Set Up Family Sharing” may pop up in a small white pop-up box. Click “Not Now” 26. There will be a prompt to “Sign into iTunes Store” in a small white pop-up box. Enter the Apple ID password and click OK. 27. There will be a prompt to accept the “Self-Service Would Like to Send You Notifications” Click OK. 28. There will be a prompt to Register for Self-Service. There will be a small white pop-up box that says, Registration Not Complete… Click Register. 29. There will be a prompt to sign in with Apple ID again. There will be a small white pop-up box that says, “Sign In Required” Click Sign In. 30. There will be a prompt to sign in again. There will be a small white pop-up box that says, “Sign In to iTunes Store” Enter the Apple ID password and click OK. 31. Check the App Store and “Purchased”. If a list of apps starts to appear, Set Up is successful. If you only see “Self Service” they did not accept the vpp correctly. Contact the Help Desk at x6767.

Please note that iCloud, , email and passcodes will not be set up at this time. Students may set these up at home. They will also have time in Advisory to set up.
