Failure to comply with this deadline will result in applicant’s ineligibility for housing.

Required documentation must be sent by registered mail (the date of the postmark will be considered the date of submission) to the following address:

Student Services Office – ISU Bocconi/Housing Center Bocconi University Piazza Sraffa 11, 20136 Milano.

The required documentation can also be delivered in a sealed envelope, with sender and addressee indicated on the outside of the envelope, to the Bocconi University One Stop Service Center’s Welcome Desk - Piazza Sraffa, 13 - 20136 Milano. If complete documentation is not submitted by the final deadline or if the documentation submitted is irregular, the applicant will be considered ineligible for housing.

Art. 3.6 Methods of Assignment of ISU Brackets for Reduced Rates Reduced rate housing and assignment of the applicant’s housing fee is determined based on the economic conditions of the applicant’s family, evaluated in light of the information provided when filling out the online application and when subsequently submitting documentation in accordance with these regulations.

Please note that the ISU bracket assigned during the first phase on the basis of the online statement could undergo variations following subsequent verifications of the documentation submitted. Any variation will be communicated during the month of January and will be applied, also with backdated values, for the entire period of housing assignment for the 2016-2017 academic year.

13

If the 4th ISU bracket is assigned to the applicant due to checks, the student will be required to pay the equivalent of three times the amount due for the assignment made undeservedly and reported to the Bocconi University Disciplinary Committee.

In particular, starting from the academic year 2012-2013, the final ISU bracket assignment and therefore the housing fee for non-EU students are subject to specific regulations reported in Attachment H.

The student’s economic conditions are identified based on the “financial condition” indicator (I.S.E.E.), I.S.E.E applicable to assisted services for the Right to University Study, calculated as per Attachment H.

Please note that eligibility for the reduced rate Housing is determined both by I.S.E.E applicable to assisted services for the Right to University Study income parameters as well as by I.S.P.E. assets parameters, while students’ ISU bracket and related rate are determined exclusively based on I.S.E.E. applicable to assisted services for the Right to University Study income parameters, conditional to the assets parameter being respected.

Art. 3.7 Verification of Financial Status and Validation of Economic Information Provided (Italian Presidential Decree 445/2000, article 71) For the purposes of ascertaining an applicant’s financial status, ISU Bocconi will avail itself of the means provided for by law, in particular article 22 of Italian Law 390 of 2 December 1991, and article 71 of Italian Presidential Decree 445 of 28 December 2000, and will request supporting documentation attesting to the veracity of the declaration (Form 730, Consolidated Form, VAT declaration, etc.).

By agreement with the Lombardy Region Revenue Office, Ministry of Finance, the accuracy of the self-certification provided by students who are deemed eligible for financial services or provision of services through open competition will be checked, pursuant to current laws and in particular article 71 of Italian Presidential Decree 445/2000.

Furthermore, information regarding ISU beneficiaries will be sent to the National Institute of Social Security and to the Department of Labor and Social Policy according to Govt. Decree no. 78 of 31 May 2010.

If an applicant’s declaration is false, sanctions will be applied pursuant to articles 75 and 76 of Italian Presidential Decree 445/2000 in addition to the sanctions foreseen by Art. 10 contained in Italian Law 68/2012 and in particular: 1. In the delay of implementation of regulations referred to in article 38, paragraph 2, of the Italian Law-Decree n. 78 of 31 May 2010, converted, with changes from Italian Law n. 122 of 30 July 2010, organizations referred to in article 3, paragraph 1, check the veracity of the family situation declared by the student by comparing the income and asset information declared by recipients of actions with the information in possession of the Internal Revenue Service IT system. For that end, universities, higher education artistic, musical and dance institutions and service provider organizations are given the power to directly access the Interexchange Tax Registry System of Local Organizations (SIATEL) at the Internal Revenue Service, upon stipulation of the appropriate agreement.

2. Service provider organizations send the lists of recipients of the same Financial Administration and can request them to carry out physical verifications and checks. The members of the family household of students benefiting from services are included in the categories that they are subject to, pursuant to applicable regulations, with maximum controls.

3. Without finding themselves in the conditions established by the state and regional regulations, anyone who submits false declarations, either regarding themselves or members of their family household, in order to make use of related actions, is subject to a considerable administrative sanction in the payment of an amount three times the amount collected, or the value of the services unduly utilized, and loses the right to obtain other grants for the duration of the study program, without prejudice to in any case the application of sanctions referred to in article 38, paragraph 3 of the Italian Law-Decree n. 78 of 31 May 2010, converted, with changes from Italian Law n. 122 of 30 July 2010, as well as criminal laws for the actions making up the crime.

Pursuant to article 2947 of the Italian Civil Code, checks will be carried out within 5 years starting from the last undue use and resulting from self-certification that was revealed to be false. 14

Bocconi University reserves the right to implement disciplinary sanctions and, if details regarding a crime are recognized (article 331 of Italian c.p.p.), report it to legal authorities.

Art. 3.8 Renewal of Housing Assignment for AY 2016-2017 The renewal of a reduced rate housing assignment for non-first year students for the AY 2016-2017, is guaranteed to students as long as: - they have been reduced rate residents for a minimum period of 3 consecutive months as of 24 July 2016; - they properly submit a renewal application online by 3:00pm on 19 July 2016.

Please note that non-first year students must meet the merit requirements summarized in the table below at 10 August 2016. Merit requirements will be checked during the month of December 2016 with reference to 10 August 2016 and anyone who has not reached the minimum credits will be placed in the 4th bracket for the entire period of assignment. Students who are certain they have not reached the minimum credits after the deadline for submitting an application should communicate their intention to stay in housing and pay the fee for the 4th bracket or immediately withdraw from the housing assignment without paying the annual fee. This must be communicated to the email address [email protected] by 23 August 2016.

Completing the online information required to submit an application entails that the housing assignment will be automatically accepted for the AY 2016-2017, if eligible. Students may withdraw from housing only as stated in article 1.3.

Art. 3.9 New Admission for Non-First Year Students Non-first year students submitting a new admission reduced rate application by 3:00pm on 19 July will also be required to meet the same merit requirements for students submitting a renewal housing application by 10 August 2016.

Art. 3.10 Merit Requirements In order to meet the minimum merit requirements, all non-first year students may use a "bonus" in addition to their credits as follows: - if the student has never used the bonus, he/she will be able to request bonus credits as detailed in the table below. Requesting bonus credits will suspend the right to mature additional bonus credits; - if the student has already requested to use bonus credits in a previous year, he/she can make use of any residual credits not used in the previous years.

Students enrolled in a Master of Science program are allowed to use the bonus earned and not used during their Bachelor Degree. The bonus corresponds to 15 credits if the student has never used it during the Bachelor Degree. Students who graduated from another Italian university need to present, together with the documents required, a self-certification in which they state the number of bonus points they earned and did not use. The self- certification form is available online from www.unibocconi.eu/housingdesk.

The reserve will be equivalent to 20% of the reduced rate housing made available due to the non-renewal of housing assignments by reduced rate housing residents during the previous year.

16

If these students apply for housing and are eligible according to these regulations, they may compete only for a housing placement foreseen by this reserve.

If there are still rooms available as of 30 September 2016, an email will be sent to all ranked students who have not be assigned housing yet, and still interested in a housing assignment for AY 2016-2017. Students must answer this email within 3 business days.

Art. 3.12 Results and Appeals/Petitions Results will be published in the results section of the website www.unibocconi.eu/housingdesk, as follows:

. New Admission: - First-year students who are not yet residents: 22 July 2016 - Non first-year students: 25 August 2016

The provisional outcome for new admission applicants refers to the eligibility of being assigned housing and not to the actual housing assignment itself, which will depend on the availability of housing.

. Renewal: - Provisional results to access housing: 22 July 2016 - Results with merit checks: December 2016

Any appeals opposing the provisional rankings or petitions for revision due to errors made by the applicant may only be submitted through the online form at: www.unibocconi.eu/housingdesk, and must be submitted no later than:

- 3:00pm on 6 August 2016 for new admissions for non-resident first-year students; - 3:00pm on 5 August 2016 for renewals and new admission of non-first year students applicants.

Students who intend to submit an appeal/petition must: - verify how and when to submit the appeal or petition, details will be available online along with the publication of the provisional results; - print the confirmation page of the submitted appeal/petition to attest the correct submission of the appeal/petition.

Art. 3.13 Housing Assignments and Acceptance for New Admission Applicants Housing assignments for new admission applicants will be made in rounds based on rankings and housing availability. Please note that the number of rooms available will depend on the number of room assignments renewed by residents of AY 2015-2016. Students who have submitted an application are required to check their email account to check if they have received a housing assignment and, if so, accept the room assignment on the following dates:

- 26 July 2016 – 1st round - 4 August 2016 – 2nd round - additional assignments through 30 September 2016.

Placements will be assigned based on housing availability at the time of the assignment. The assignment cannot be changed, even if further housing options become available at a later time.

Acceptance of housing, which is finalized with the payment of the €500 housing deposit, must be made within 3 business days from the sending date of the reservation email, according to the procedures outlined in the email. Failure to accept the assignment and make the deposit payment by the specified deadline, will result in the student losing the housing assignment and the room will be assigned to the next eligible applicant in the ranking.

Please note that, for cancelations after accepting the housing assignment, the security deposit will be withheld.

Only during the period between 23 August and 25 August 2016, new housing recipients will be able to view their room without checking in if the accommodation does not meet their expectations. In that case, to formalize the 17

rejection and withdraw from the assignment, an email must be sent to the Housing Center at the address [email protected] by 11:59pm on the day the room was viewed. The security deposit will not be returned. If the cancelation is communicated after 25 August 2016, the student may withdraw only during the subsequent time windows and make the related payments (see Art. 1.3).

At the time of acceptance, all housing recipients will be required to indicate the date in which they intend to participate in one of the orientation meetings on life at Bocconi Residence Halls, which will be held during early September, during “Welcome Days”.

Art. 3.14 Assignments and Acceptance for Renewal Residents Because renewal applications are equivalent to acceptance of housing for AY 2016-2017, students are not required to make further confirmations online, but they must access the online form to print documents on the website www.unibocconi.eu/housingdesk following the publication of results.

Art. 3.15 Renewal of Housing Assignments for AY 2017-2018 Students assigned housing as a reduced rate for AY 2016-2017 will have the right to request a renewal for the following academic year if they meet the requirements set out in the regulations for AY 2017-2018.

Please note that for reduced rate housing, the bracket assigned at the time of the first admission into a residence hall will not be automatically maintained for subsequent years. Housing service rates will in fact be recalculated each year based on new financial and asset documentation submitted.

ATTACHMENT C: Bocconi Residence Regulations

Introduction Bocconi Housing assignments are made with the aim of offering off-campus students the possibility to study at Bocconi in a comfortable and scholastic environment. The residences meet a variety of student needs: from the fundamental and practical need to have a stable base from which to attend university to the need to develop social relationships. The Bocconi Residences provide an environment for cultural and educational enrichment.

Article 1 Residents for the entire period of the housing assignment, in accordance with the regulations, will enjoy access to the Residence premises within the limits set forth in current regulations and with regard to the rights and freedoms of other students. As housing assignments are strictly non-transferable, an assigned placement shall not be given to, used by or shared with any third parties, even temporarily. A breach of this rule will result in the immediate termination of a resident’s housing assignment and may result in civil and criminal penalties for the resident.

Article 2 Residents must practice good and appropriate conduct that is respectful of the personal integrity and dignity of others, as well as the integrity and decorum of the places wherein university life takes place. Residents will not disturb or prevent other residents from living and studying in a comfortable environment in any way. Anyone who does not comply with these regulations may be removed from the Bocconi Residences, with the loss of their security deposit and a possible referral to the Disciplinary Committee.

Article 3 Residents are responsible for maintaining their assigned rooms in good order, as well as the common areas, furniture and fittings, fixtures and equipment, floors and walls. Bocconi University staff and residence management may undertake periodic inspections of rooms for service purposes. A second key to each room is available for the use of residence management. Residents may not install any door-locking device in their rooms other than that which is in place. Resident students must allow maintenance, cleaning and security staff to have access to their rooms. It is the specific obligation of residents to provide timely communications – through the proper online form – to the head of residence management of any damage or malfunctioning of the housing that s/he is aware of. Residents must leave their rooms in the same hygienic and sanitary conditions as when they arrived. Any restoration costs are the responsibility of the student and will be reimbursed to the residence manager. In case of default, the security deposit will be withheld until the student has fully complied with his/her obligations.

Article 4 Pursuant to paragraph 7 of Annexure 1/A to Italian Law 180 of 18/7/80, no. 406, the use of any kind of stove for heating food, gas heaters or electric heaters with an open heating element, kerosene or coal-burning or other similar heaters, other than those provided, is prohibited in students’ rooms. The use of electrical appliances and similar equipment for heating or cooling is also prohibited.

Article 5 Students may have visitors, within the limits set out in the articles below and on condition that they do not disturb other residents. Visitors must respect the Regulations in force while they are in the building. The resident is responsible for all aspects of his/her guest’s behavior, including disciplinarily with regards to the University, and is responsible for violations of the regulations carried out by his/her guests. Meetings with non-residents, as well as meetings of residents, must take place in the designated areas. The Management may from time to time authorize non-residents to visit rooms, subject to those visitors leaving an identification document at reception. Visitors must leave the room and the residence building each day by 12am midnight. Any breach will result in the expulsion from the residence with loss of the security deposit and referral to the Disciplinary Committee.

24

Management reserves the right to carry out checks and to seek compensation from those responsible for any theft of or damage to furniture, fittings, structures or anything else in their care. The cost of repair of damage caused shall be billed to those responsible.

Article 6 The Management of the residence and the related Students’ Commission are responsible for ensuring compliance with the above rules for communal living, and for notifying Bocconi University, where necessary, of any breach that occurs or is repeated, so that the appropriate measures may be taken. Any complaint about staff, service, other residents or any other kind whatsoever, must be made to ISU Bocconi/Student Services Office, who will pass the complaint on to Management. The use of radios, televisions, etc., must not disturb others and may not be used between 12am midnight and 7am.

Article 7 In the case of inappropriate conduct by residents, serious breaches of the Regulations in force, or damage to residence furniture or fittings, Management shall report the occurrence to Bocconi University so that the relevant disciplinary measures may be taken. If the responsible party of the damages is not identified, the cost of damage reparations to return items to state of the art conditions will occur as follows:

- damages inside the room: billed to the resident assigned that room; - damages inside the apartment: billed to all residents of that apartment; - damages on a floor: billed to all residents of that floor; - damages in the common areas: billed all residents of the Residence.

Article 8 Repeated absence without a reason given will result in permanent eviction of the resident from the accommodation building.

Article 9 A resident’s housing assignment will be automatically and immediately be terminated in the event:

- the resident transfers to another university; - the resident withdraws from Bocconi; - the resident graduates. In this case, the accommodation must be left permanently by the end of the same month. The interested party may request to be allowed the possibility of using the accommodation at the full rate until the end of the housing assignment; - the resident incurs disciplinary sanctions greater than an official reprimand; - the resident is responsible for serious violations of the Bocconi Housing regulations;

Article 10 Resident students who are behind on their payments, or who have been removed from the residence for disciplinary or other reasons, must remove all their property from the building after Bocconi University has exercised its rights over it pursuant to Article 2760 of the Italian Civil Code. If students do not comply with this regulation, residence staff has the right to seize items left behind on the premises, where they will be held for a year for the owner to collect them. Regarding the operation and the possible necessity to open any wardrobes or drawers, a report will be made witnessed by two persons and a representative of Bocconi University.

Article 11 Bocconi University is not responsible for any goods, valuables, money, etc., that residents keep in their rooms. Students may request management to store valuable objects in a safe, where this service is available.

Article 12 The accommodation fees are annual and may be paid in advance according to the procedures and by the deadlines communicated to guests when required.

Article 13 Newly assigned residents must pay a housing deposit of €500.00. This deposit shall be returned to the student, without interest, when the student permanently leaves the assigned housing, on condition that the student has 25

not outstanding debts to the University or to the management. The deposit will not be returned if the student leaves the residence early for personal reasons, and will be kept as a deposit in case of default.

The deposit may also be used to contribute towards compensation for any damages caused to residence facilities as well as to returning the room to proper hygienic and sanitary conditions and maintaining the room in good order.

Article 14 The accommodation agreement shall be exclusively between resident students and the Management of the residence. With regard to the agreement between residence Management and residents, reference is made to the laws that regulate the agreements between hotel proprietors and their clientele.

Article 15 Each year student residents in the Bocconi Residence Hall will autonomously elect two representatives for each building for relations with Bocconi University and the Management.

The replacement of the telephone provided with a different telephone is prohibited. 19. The abuse of alcoholic beverages is prohibited. 20. Visitors are not allowed between 12am midnight and 7am. Students who do not comply with this rule will lose the Housing Service benefit and have to leave the dorm.

Article 17 Parties may be organized in the common areas, on the following conditions: - the Housing Center and the Management must receive advance notice of at least 5 business days; - parties must end by 12am midnight: - each non-resident must have a fixed resident host in the residence hall who is held responsible regarding violations of the regulations the non-resident may be guilty of; - parties must be organized by two students who assume the responsibility of regulating the event. During the month preceding any kind of student election, requests to organize events at Bocconi Residences will not be approved.

26

Article 18 Bocconi University reserves the right to transfer guests, even during the year, to another residence hall.

Article 19 Residents who do not follow the rules in these regulations will be reported to the Rector of Bocconi University, for disciplinary provisions which could lead to the permanent eviction from the Residence and for the revocation of scholarship or any other financial assistance.

Article 20 Regarding the use of internet: - in Residences where wireless internet connection is available, a maximum of two devices receiving data is allowed (e.g. PCs, smartphones and tablets) for each guest; - it is strictly forbidden to connect routers or other devices with a similar function to the residence network that may interfere with the proper functioning of the Residence’s network and/or limit the enjoyment of the service to other residents; any devices with router functions found in housing units will be sequestered and the student responsible for the housing unit will be subject to a fine of 100 euros; - any improper use of the network and in particular, illegal downloading and use of content covered by copyright will amount to cause for submission to the University Disciplinary Commission; - the University reserves the right to prohibit use of the residence internet coverage for defined periods for students who are responsible for violating these regulations or uses that penalize other guests in the residence in the use of available network.

ATTACHMENT H: Requirements Regarding Financial Conditions for Allocation of Reduced Rate Housing

H.1 Method for evaluating financial conditions Economic requirements for accessing benefits refer to data taken from the ISEE University Certificate.

Students requesting Right to Study benefits must meet the economic prerequisite by fulfilling both the following economic requirements referring to a ISEE Certificate with the statement “si applica alle prestazioni agevolate per il Diritto allo Studio Universitario” in the name of the student applicant (with Italian Fiscal Code indicated) issued in 2016, according to existing regulations and the family household:

- an I.S.E.E. applicable to assisted services for the Right to University Study - no greater than €23,000.00; - an I.S.P.E. (I.S.P / Parameter of equivalency scale) - no greater than €50,.

For all student applicants whose family household held assets at 31 December 2015 or produced income in 2015 in countries outside the European Union, please note that, pursuant to Italian D.G.R. 2013 of Italian D.lgs 286/98, of Italian D.P.R. n. 394 of 31 August 1999, declarations that attest an annual income less than €5,824.91 will not be considered valid for the purposes of ISU Bocconi eligibility, as it is incompatible with immigration regulations.

The evaluation of the student’s financial conditions is based on parameters from the ISEE Certificate applicable to assisted services for the Right to University Study and other elements derived from the documentation submitted to ISU Bocconi for the AY 2016-2017 or gathered during other checks completed by the Office, both during the period following publication of the provisional ranking during the year, and after publication of the final ranking. Further documentation may be requested that better certifies the actual financial conditions of the applicant. After ISU Bocconi eligibility has been verified according to these criteria, an ISU Bocconi bracket will be assigned based exclusively on the ISEE applicable to assisted services for the Right to University Study parameters, if correct.

H.2 ISEE Certification and Self-Certificate (DSU – Dichiarazione Sostitutiva Unica) For the purposes of requesting services for the right to higher education, a ISEE Certificate with the statement “si applica alle prestazioni agevolate per il Diritto allo Studio Universitario” in the name of the student applicant (with Italian Fiscal Code indicated) and related DSU Self-Certification in its extended version (not the MINI version), issued in 2016 according to current legislation, must be obtained. This must be completed in due time according to the deadlines set for submitting related documentation.

The DSU Self-Certification is a document that contains information regarding personal data, income and assets needed to describe the financial situation of the family household in order to request social services. The DSU is required in order to provide information to calculate the ISEE (Index of the Equivalent Financial Situation).

The ISEE is an indicator that evaluates the family’s financial situation and considers the income of all members, their assets (valued at 20%) and an equivalency scale based on the number of members in the family household and their characteristics.

ISEE Certificates issued before 1 January 2016 will not be considered valid for the purposes of these Regulations and Application.

For complete information regarding the ISEE applicable to assisted services for the Right to University Study and DSU, please refer to www.inps.it.

H.2.1 How to obtain documentation Applicants for social services can submit their DSU electronically directly to INPS, by accessing the website www.inps.it. The ISEE portal will be available in the “Online services” – “Citizen Services” section of the website, which can be accessed by using the system PIN issued by INPS. Methods for issuing the PIN are described in the “Online PIN” section of the INPS website. Applicants can submit a DSU to the City Administration or a Fiscal Assistance Center (CAF) or the INPS branch active in the area. At the time of submission, a DSU only contains self-declared information. After submitting a DSU, the certifier will receive a receipt of the submission from the organization receiving the document (INPS, City Administration, CAF or

35 issuing organization) but not the calculated ISEE. To calculate the ISEE, other information must be provided by INPS and the income revenue agency, according to the methods and timelines for which the University is not responsible. It is therefore the responsibility of the interested party to obtain the ISEE applicable to assisted services for the Right to University Study and the required documents/information in a timely manner and meet the deadlines set for submitting information online for the submission of the applications(s) set out in these Regulations and Application.

H.3 Regulatory references Article 5 of Italian Legislative Decree n. 201 of 6 December 2011, converted with changes by Italian Law n. 214 of 22 December 2011 provided for a revision of the methods for determining the Index of the Equivalent Financial Situation (ISEE) and its areas of application.

The Italian Decree by the President of the Council of Ministers n. 159 of 5 December 2013 for the implementation of the aforementioned Article 5 greatly reformed the regulation previously in force (Italian Legislative Decree n. 109 of 31 March 1998 and Italian Decree by the President of the Council of Ministers n. 221 of 7 May 1999) which was revoked 30 days after the date the coming into force of the Italian Interministerial Decree of 7 November approving the new DSU model, related instructions and the certification. Therefore, as the Italian Decree was published in the Italian Official Journal (G.U.) n. 267 of 17/11/2014 (S.O. n. 87), the new regulations will be in force starting on 1 January 2015.

H.4 Calculating the I.S.E.E. and I.S.P.E. The financial situation of the family household is calculated by considering the income of all family members, their assets (valued at 20%) and, through an equivalency scale, the composition of the family household (number of members and their characteristics).

ISEE = (sum of income net of exemptions) + 20%* (sum of assets net of exemptions)

______

Parameter of equivalency scale

The equivalency scale indicates a parameter that increases with increases in the number of members of the family household. The parameter is higher if there are several characteristics of the family household that take on importance in this context: presence of more than two dependent children in the family household; working parents and minor children, in particular if younger than three years; one-parent households. Please remember that for the item income exempt from taxes in the DSU Self-Certification, income collected must also be included that, based on current legislation, is not part of total IRPEF income, nor subject to other kinds of taxation in Italy, such as, for example, scholarship amounts.

ISU Bocconi excludes scholarship amounts collected from the ISEE value for the right to study, compared to the corresponding parameter of equivalency scale.

Base on the year of reference that must be documented, when students use the CAF or other organization appointed to issue an ISEE Certificate, they must certify the amounts collected from scholarships, as follows: - with reference to what was paid out through 2014 – showing the bank statement from where amounts were claimed, the dates and reason for payment of the bank transfer received. If this is not included for the registrant, the DSU will use the principle of self-declaration of data. - With reference to what was paid out in 2015, showing the 2016 C.U. Single Certification (for 2015) issued by the Bocconi University Administration to all interested parties.

The ISPE can be derived from the ISEE Certificate as follows:

ISPE = ISP (Asset Situation Indicator) / Parameter of equivalency scale

This value is not required to be included in the ISU desk form, as it will be calculated by the system during the ranking phase.

H.5 Calculation of the family household

36

The family household is made up of subjects who are members of the registered family at the date of submission of the DSU, barring some exceptions.

Hereinafter are several examples:

A) PhD Programs The applicant, enrolled in a PhD Program at Bocconi University, has the right to declare a “restricted” family household, made up of the applicant, spouse and children (if present).

B) Forfeiture of parental responsibility/Provision for estrangement If a provision exists with which the qualified Tribunal has ordered the forfeiture of one or both parents from responsibility of the children, with custody given to third parties, or if there is a provision for estrangement from the family residence, the applicant must document his/her financial situation in addition to that of all members of the applicant’s family household he/she is in custody of and resulting registered residence, when completing the DSU.

C) Married and/or cohabitating parents of the student Excepting what is stated in letters A and B, for the purposes of these Regulations and Application, applicants shall always be part of a family household with married and/or cohabiting parents, unless considered “independent”.

D) Legally separated (separation approved by the Tribunal) or divorced parents of the student For the purposes of these Regulations and Application, the applicant’s family household is that of the cohabiting parent and resulting registered residence, when completing the DSU.

E) Parents of student applicant who never married and do not cohabitate For the purposes of these Regulations and Application, the family household of the applicant and the cohabiting parent shall be integrated with that of the other non-cohabiting parent. It shall not be integrated only if the parent not cohabiting with the student is married, has other children with a person other than the student’s cohabiting parent, is exempt from responsibility for the student or is required to pay alimony to support the student.

H.6 Independent students Implementing what is set out in article 8, paragraph 2 of Italian Decree by the President of the Council of Ministers n. 159/2013, students are ALWAYS part of the parents’ family household, unless BOTH of the following requirements are met: a) the student’s residence, resulting from the registry evidence, is different from that of the family of origin and has been established for at least two years prior to the date of the submission of the application, in a property not owned by a member of the original family household; b) income derived from subordinated or equivalent job, fiscally declared from at least two years, of at least € 6,500.00.

If both of the abovementioned conditions are not met – and duly documented for all the years of reference – the student cannot be considered as independent and for this reason the financial conditions of the student’s family of origin will be taken into consideration for ISU Bocconi eligibility and the final ISU Bracket.

37

ATTACHMENT I: Submission of Application for Reduced Rate Housing and Documentation In order for the application to be considered regularly submitted it is necessary that:

- the interested party enters personal data online (the data entry is necessary for the production of the application form, but in no circumstances does not replace the submission of the actual application); - the application form is to be printed, signed and sent to the Housing Center, as specified in the Housing Application Requirements and Regulations, together with the requested documents indicated in this attachment.

Failure to insert information online as set out in the regulations or failure to submit the signed application and/or one or more documents will result in the disqualification from the application.

The necessary documentation must be sent via registered mail to the Housing Center – Bocconi University – Piazza Sraffa 11, 20136 Milan Italy (postmark date will be considered as the date of submission), or delivered, strictly in a sealed envelope to the Welcome Desk of the One-Stop Service Center of the Bocconi University – Piazza Sraffa, 13 – 20136 Milan Italy (the delivery date will be considered as the date of submission) by and no later than 26 September 2016.

The documentation indicated below must be sent by 26 September 2016, and MUST BE bound with a plastic spiral binding in a single booklet with the cover page being the signed and dated application form. It is not necessary to bind translated and legalized documents, but they must be submitted at the same time as the booklet and in the same envelope. All documents must be provided even if submitted in the past and/or to other University Offices. Documents will not be returned, therefore students are invited to keep a photocopy of the documents they submit. Failure to send documentation on time will result in the cancelation of the application.

ISU Bocconi has the power – but is not required – to inform students of any inconsistencies between declarations made for ISEE purposes and what has been documented. It is therefore recommended to carefully verify that what has been declared for ISEE purposes. Any inconsistencies and related consequences are the responsibility of the student applicant.

I.1 Required documents for all applicants:  application form received by email, duly printed and signed by the student (and by the parent/guardian with parental responsibility if the student is under age at the time the application is submitted);  copy of the student’s valid ID or passport (and of the parent/guardian with parental responsibility if the student is under age at the time the application is submitted);  financial documentation for income and assets in Italy, if available – read paragraph I.3  financial documentation for income and assets abroad, if available – read paragraph I.4

I.2 Documents required for specific cases:  Only for students with a disability equivalent or greater than 66%: a copy of certification given by a Medical Commission which verifies the percentage of disability;  Only for non-first year students in MSc programs who completed their undergraduate degree at another Italian university and who intend to use the bonus points: self-certification form available online at www.unibocconi.eu/housingdesk  Only for students who requested the HOUSINGdesk to consider them as independents, the following supplementary documentation is required:  2014 and 2015 CUD document;  2014 and 2015 tax returns;  Proof of permanent address for the two years prior to the date of the submission of the application and rental or loan contact for housing, or if owner of the home, copy of the deed for the same period.

I.3 Documentation for assets and income produced in Italy: In addition to the documents foreseen in the Regulations, the financial documentation to be provided for income and assets in Italy includes the following (additionally, any income/assets from countries other than Italy need to be indicated in the ISEE applicable to assisted services for the Right to University Study):  I.S.E.E. Certificate with the statement “si applica alle prestazioni agevolate per il Diritto allo Studio Universitario” in the name of the student applicant (with Italian Fiscal Code indicated) issued in 2016 according to current legislation;

38

 Related extended version of the DSU (Dichiarazione Sostitutiva Unica) signed by the registrant in each section (The Registrant is the person undersigning the DSU and assumes criminal and civil responsibility for the correct completion of the information provided therein, pursuant to article 76 of Italian DPR n. 445 of 28 December 2000, regarding fabrications in documents and false declarations. The Registrant also declares to have completed the related forms and that that which is expressed therein is true and verifiable pursuant to article 43 of the aforementioned Italian DPR n. 445 of 2000, that is, can be documented upon the request of qualified administrative offices).

Please note: Students holding an ISEE Certificate issued before January 2016 may not use this document for the purposes of the Application but must have an ISEE Certificate with the statement “si applica alle prestazioni agevolate per il Diritto allo Studio Universitario” in the name of the student applicant (with Italian Fiscal Code indicated) issued after 1 January 2016, according to current regulations.

I.3.1 Further documentation required for specific cases with assets held and income produced in Italy  If the assets of the household include companies or shares of unlisted or listed companies, documentation certifying the net assets of the company at 31/12/2015 is required:

Companies which require a drafting of the Financial Statements (normal accounting): - Chamber of commerce company registration; - Balance Sheet: Financial Statements, Income Statement, Explanatory Notes; - Statement of net assets (click here or use the statement that was completed when requesting the ISEE Certificate).

Companies which do NOT require a drafting of the Financial Statements (simplified accounting): - Document certifying sum of the surplus; - Register of amortizable assets; - Document certifying other assets or property (company current accounts, shares, etc.); - Statement of net assets (click here or use the statement that was completed when requesting the ISEE Certificate).

 If parents are legally separated/divorced: complete copy of the divorce/separation certificate approved by the Tribunal (including sections related to financial agreements).

I.4 Documentation for assets and income deriving from countries outside of Italy Because there are no regulations at a national level regarding assessment of the financial situation of family households for non-Italian students and Italian students who are residents in countries outside Italy, their financial situations will be assessed using the methods in use applied previously, but with reference to data related to the 2015 fiscal year.

On the basis of the Presidential Decree n°394 of 31 August 1999, the financial and asset situation for foreign students must be certified with appropriate documentation as follows:

1. the documentation must be issued by the relevant authorities in the country where the income was earned; 2. then it must be translated into Italian by qualified local Italian diplomatic representatives. 3. finally, it must be legalized according one of the following:

i. by the qualified local Italian diplomatic authorities; ii. or by the relevant diplomatic or consular authorities of the given country in Italy; iii. Documents are exempt from legalization on the condition that they bear an “Apostille” and for the documents issued in one of the signatory countries of Hague Conference on Private International Law, 5 October 1961. For more information: https://www.hcch.net/en/instruments/conventions/authorities1/?cid=41. iv. Only documents drawn up by diplomatic or consular representatives from the following countries are exempt from legalization: Austria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain (extended to the Isle of Man), Greece, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, Moldova, the Netherlands (extended to the Dutch Antilles and Aruba), Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey. v. Any form of legalization or any other equivalent or analogous formality is not required between Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland, Italy, including in cases in which documents must be shown to consular representatives from Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland and Italy working in the territory of

39

a country that has not ratified the aforementioned Convention. For other EU countries, though signatories of the Brussels Convention, the consular or Apostille regime of legalization shall hold fast, if signatories to the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961.

The same regulations apply to students, regardless of their nationality, whose household derives assets or income in countries outside Italy.

Assets and income produced outside of the eurozone will be evaluated based on the 2015 average exchange rate, stated in the Attachment K.

For those countries where it is particularly difficult to receive certification from the local Italian embassy, the documentation shall be provided by the relevant diplomatic or consular authorities of the given country in Italy and legalized by the Prefecture (Prefettura) pursuant to article 33 of Italian D.P.R. n. 445 of 28 December 2000.

For foreign students coming from countries with low human development, listed in Ministerial Decree of 1 August 2014, and specified below, the evaluation of the student’s financial position is carried out on the basis of certification issued by the Italian Representation in the student’s country, which declares that the student does not come from a family known to have a high income and social level. This certification can also be given by Italian authorities which are qualified to give a guarantee of economic coverage under the current enrolment arrangements for foreign students at Italian universities. In the latter case, the certifying body must provide a written commitment to reimburse the scholarship on behalf of the student, in case the scholarship is revoked. Countries with a low human development to which these regulations apply are the following: Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo Dem. ATTACHMENT J: Full rate Housing - Room Type Preference

All Bocconi housing has a high standard of quality. What characterizes housing and diversifies it is: the layout of each Residence Hall, their location and the annual fee.

Preferences can be made regarding the residence hall, room type and price bracket of the possible housing assignment when completing the online application. Please note that this is a preference only. In case of assignment, the Housing Center will take into consideration the communicated preferences according to: room availability, ranking position and the applicant’s gender.

In the following table, which is also included on the online application, preferences can be expressed with 1 indicating the most preferred room type, up to 15 to indicated the least preferred.

If a student is certain he/she will not accept a certain room type, “NOT ACCEPT” can be selected in the order of preferences. In this case, the student will limit the possibilities of receiving an assignment as, if there is no housing available among the preferences indicated at the time of assignments, no housing will be assigned.
