This 2019 work plan defines and supplements Chapter 2000 of the Douglas County Forest Comprehensive Land-Use Plan 2006-2020 and emphasizes and adjusts for the current annual needs of the Forest Management and Outdoor Recreation Programs. 2170.1 General Administration DCFD will continue its professional management of the County Forest and outdoor recreational resources to best protect the balance between the environmental needs of the Forest and the forest products, and of equal importance, the intangible social values necessary to enhance quality of life in the County. Sustainable management of all intrinsic Forest values will be emphasized to maintain the overall health of forest resources and maximize the economic, social, and biological benefits provided. Balancing all the competing public interests, including those derived from forest certification, amongst the mandates of managing the forest for high-productivity, will continue to present significant challenges to Department operations. 2170.1.1 Douglas County Forest Comprehensive Land-Use Plan 2006 - 2020 2019 will be the fourteenth year of the fifteen year Douglas County Forest Comprehensive Land-Use Plan 2006-2020.
