WEEK 5 July 3-4

Week 5 marks the story of the Passover, in The Doors God Ignored in Exodus 12:1-42. We’ll take a deeper look at the final plague and the idea of and salvation.

God provides a way for me to be saved.

I can celebrate what God has done for me.

Passover / Exodus 12:1-42

"Are there any gods like you, Lord? No! There are no gods like you.You are wonderfully holy. You are amazingly powerful. You do great miracles." - Exodus 15:11

1. What was the turning point for Pharaoh in this story? What would have happened if he had listened to God the first time? 2. How is the sacrifice of the lamb in this story similar to Jesus’ sacrifice? 3. What has God saved you from? How will you get real about celebrating what God has done for you?

Tarp Flip Challenge

Please See attached Activity Page for your Small Group Activity!

How does your family usually celebrate something? Do they make a cake? Throw a party? Wear party hats? Hang party decorations? Sing and dance? Give big hugs? Do that thing today and celebrate that God has saved you from sin and death!

I can practice celebrating what God has done for me by thinking about all of the ways he’s taken care of me before. Tarp Flip Challenge

1. Have your kids all stand on the tarp. (If your group is large split them and have two tarps)

2. Tell your kids that they must flip the tarp over completely to the other Play Area side without having anyone step off of the tarp. If someone steps off they have to start over. Tarp or sheet (1-2/small group) 3. Let them work through it on their own as much as possible helping only when they get stuck for more than a few minutes.

4. If they complete the challenge, fold the tarp so it is smaller and more difficult, or time them to see if they can do it faster.

Did any of you think this was impossible at first? It might have seemed like that right? It reminds me of our story from today. The Israelites probably thought there was no way they’d ever escape their slavery in Egypt, especially since Pharaoh said they couldn’t leave even after all the plagues. But God provided them a way to be saved . He saves us too!

This is another great opportunity for prayer! Kids may have asked questions or discovered something new during the activity - you can pray for these things or generally pray that this activity will impact their lives this week.
