3 4 Dear Friends:

Welcome to this performance of Into the Woods. Each year, the annual school musical brings together a unique mix of students to share an experience that most remember for a lifetime. Whether they are on stage in a prominent role, a member of the ensemble, playing in the pit, or doing incredible work as members of the tech crew, our students gain invaluable experience from participating in the musical.

For the first time this year, our musical is under the direction of Megan Gray. We are all grateful to Megan for her leadership, creativity, and flexibility in providing this important annual tradition under the many challenges that come with group performances in the era of COVID. Similarly, I’d like to thank the many parent volunteers who have contributed their time and energy to making this show possible. Your support greatly enhances our students’ lives.

Finally, thank you for joining us for this very special production, and for all you do to support fine arts at Saint Viator High School. Please enjoy the show as our cast and crew leads us on a musical journey Into the Woods.

8 Dear Friends,

Welcome to Saint Viator High School and this performance of Into the Woods. The annual musical is one of the highlights of our school, and I hear from students, alumni, and parents that it’s an event they look forward to each year.

Being part of the musical and other enriching activities at Saint Viator is an important part of the student experience. Not only does it enhance academic growth, but it provides valuable opportunities to form new friendships, discover hidden talents, explore interests, and create memories for a lifetime.

We extend our congratulations to students for their hard work and dedication to giving this outstanding performance, and appreciation to the faculty, staff, and parents who volunteered their time and expertise to make this show a success. Without their support, this production would not have been possible.

Thank you to each of you for joining us today and supporting our students, including the many alumni who may have once performed in a Saint Viator musical themselves. Your presence and support is appreciated by everyone.

Thank you, especially, to Ms. Megan Gray, for choosing to join Saint Viator High School and our theater department during the challenges of the pandemic. Her ability to think outside the box this year has demonstrated resilience and ingenuity, impacting our students with life-long skills.

Enjoy the show!

Sincerely,

Karen Love Principal

Some highlights include a stint with both Harpo Studios, Lookingglass Theatre, and touring the world as a performer rigger for Vertigo, producing original versions of Peter Pan in four different countries. Currently, John’s focus is closer to home where he’s the at-home parent for his six-year old child and a taxi for his two older children. He gives back to the theatre community by working as a guest artist giving support to high schools in the Chicagoland area. This is John’s third year working on the Saint Viator musical.
