Fiscal Year 2018 had much success at DSC as the people we serve continue to develop new and enhanced relationships in all areas of their lives! Our focus continues to be community-based supports in all service areas. Watching people create new networks that are opening doors and exciting opportunities is all the motivation necessary to keep moving in this direction. It is an exciting time for the people receiving DSC services and for the Direct Service Professionals who work so hard to make it all happen. Throughout this annual report, you will be able to enjoy the milestones from this fiscal year, and the donors who so generously give in support of our mission and vision. Fiscal Year 2018 has also been a year of looking forward. In FY19, I will celebrate 40 years at DSC. Although I am as driven by our mission today as I was 40 years ago, I believe it is time for me to pass the leadership torch to someone else. This will be challenging for me, but I believe the time is right for both DSC and for me. A change of this nature requires planning and transition to ensure continued success for the organization and the incoming CEO. During this fiscal year, the DSC Board of Directors developed a CEO Transition Plan, which included the appointment of a CEO Transition Committee to handle the interview process. After careful consideration, the CEO Transition Committee recommended Ms. Danielle Matthews as the CEO Elect for DSC. The full Board of Directors accepted the Committee’s recommendation and approved Danielle’s hire. The Board’s approval demonstrates their confidence in Danielle and her abilities to be the next leader of this wonderful organization. I After careful would like to personally congratulate Danielle and ask that you do so as well, as she begins her transition into this new position. consideration, the CEO I have worked with Danielle for 11 years at DSC and for four years prior to her Transition Committee joining our organization as part of the Audit Team from McGladrey. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science, Major in Accountancy degree from Miami University, recommended Ms. Oxford, OH and also holds a CPA designation. I am fully confident in her abilities, vision, and commitment to DSC’s mission and know she is prepared to take Danielle Matthews as DSC into the future. Danielle has a strong sense of DSC from both the financial and clinical perspectives and how each of those perspectives affects the other. the CEO Elect for DSC. Additionally, Danielle has strong leadership skills that are essential to her new position. DSC’s Leadership Team will be behind her with over 200 years of combined experience. Together, this dedicated group of professionals will offer tremendous support to Danielle as she assumes her new role. I am confident she will bring the necessary experience along with the passion and commitment that is needed to run this organization. Danielle and I will be working together closely to finalize her transition into the CEO position, which will take place on September 1, 2019. While Danielle will assume this role, I will not completely leave DSC. I will continue to help and support all DSC fundraisers and in January 2020, I will be spending some time with our development department as we continue our efforts in growing the DSC Foundation Endowment. As I close my final annual report address, I would like to share my gratitude for having been the CEO of this organization for decades, a personal and professional experience that is second-to-none. I owe tremendous thanks to the many members of the boards of directors for whom I have worked, to the dedicated group of employees that I have led over the years, and most importantly, to the thousands of individuals we have served during my tenure. Words simply cannot express my feelings. Congratulations again to Danielle and much success to the future of DSC!
