Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Lahore. TEVTA has been set up by the Punjab Government as an autonomous body, through an Ordinance, to revitalize technical education institutes all over the Punjab by upgrading curriculum, retraining teachers and making each institution responsive to the needs and demands of the market place.

Member Governing Council: Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC) Lahore. PVTC, institution set-up by Punjab Government which uses zakat funds to set-up new vocational training institutes in which zakat mustahikeen are trained to give them the ability to be employed and therefore stand on their own feet. Mr. Jahangir Khan Tareen was one of founder members of PVTC.

Parliamentary Leader of PML (F) in the National Assembly.

Resigned from the National Assembly as well as PML (F) in December 2011 and joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He was appointed as Chairman, Policy & Planning, and formulated policy papers regarding health, education, energy, local government, etc. Subsequently he was appointed Secretary General PTI.
