Sunday, September 16th @ 10:00 - 13:00: JIVAMUKTI YOGA & SPIRITUAL ACTIVISM OF AZAHAR FOUNDATION ASANA FOCUS: BACKBENDS (ALL LEVELS)

Spiritual Activism means taking our yoga practice off the mat into the world. Activism means to be engaged in education and actions that lead to the betterment of society. When activism is spiritualized, it means that all actions are congruent with and supported by the high ethical teachings underlying a yogic practice, first and foremost the practice of ahimsa (non-violence). This workshop opens with a visual presentation of AZAHAR Foundation, an international non-profit organization, founded by Yogeswari. Following the presentation, there is a heart-opening practice, interspersed with chanting, philosophical teachings and ending with meditation. After the workshop, there is a 30-min Q&A.

AZAHAR Foundation is an international not-for-profit organization, founded by Yogeswari, that focuses on peace building through yoga, meditation, the arts and supporting methodologies. Its pilot project is in Cambodia, with burgeoning projects in Rwanda, Ivory Coast and Syria/Lebanon. Its non-profit status is recognized in the USA (501©3), Switzerland and Cambodia.

These workshops are a part of the International Annual Yogathon, “Breathe in Yoga, Breathe out Peace” to raise funds for AZAHAR Foundation. 20% of the revenue of both workshops will go to AZAHAR Foundation.
