Fraser Whineray Chief Executive, Mercury & Head of Mission Page | 2 Fraser Whineray is the Chief Executive of Mercury, one of New Zealand’s leading energy retailers. Fraser joined Mercury in 2008 as General Manager Generation and was appointed Chief Executive in 2014. Before joining Mercury, he held senior roles at Carter Holt Harvey and in the dairy and finance sectors. Fraser is married to Lucy and has two daughters.

Fraser has degrees in chemical engineering, dairy science and business from Canterbury, Massey and Cambridge respectively.

Malcolm Alexander Chief Executive, Local Government New Zealand

Malcolm Alexander is the Chief Executive of LGNZ, an organisation representing the national interests of local authorities throughout New Zealand.

Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive, Mr Alexander was the General Manager of Corporate Affairs at Genesis Energy. David Bridgman Senior Partner, PwC

David Bridgman is a Senior Deals Partner with PwC who works across both the Corporate Finance and Restructuring areas. Tony Carter is the Chairman of Air New Zealand, New Zealand’s national airline. He is also the Chairman of Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Limited, a director of Fletcher Building Limited and ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited, and Independent Chairman of Blues LLP.

Barbara Chapman is the Chief Executive and Managing Director of ASB Bank, a position she has held since April 2011. In the same month, she was also appointed non-executive Director of the Group’s New Zealand life insurance business, ASB Life Limited (Sovereign).

Ms Chapman started her career with the Group in 1994 as Chief Manager Marketing in the Commonwealth Bank’s New Zealand subsidiary, ASB, and was internally promoted to a newly created role of General Manager Marketing and Human Resources in 2000. In 2001, Ms Chapman assumed the role of Head of Retail Banking and Marketing for ASB, and was responsible for the Bank’s sales and service strategy, personal banking performance, marketing, branding, sponsorship and public relations. Matthew Cockram Chief Executive, Cooper and Company

Matthew Cockram is the Chief Executive for Cooper and Company New Zealand, a private investment company that acquires and develops assets on a long-term ownership basis.

Prior to this role, Mr Cockram practiced as a lawyer at Bell Gully, one of New Zealand’s largest law firms, including 13 years as a partner and four years as Chairman of the Board of Partners.

Matthew’s role as CEO New Zealand includes day-to-day responsibilities in the areas of governance, leadership, legal design, finance, planning and strategy. He is closely involved in all major transactions and other Cooper and Company New Zealand based investments and activities.

Mr Cooper founded Cooper and Company after moving to the United States in 1989. The company now has branches in Auckland, New Zealand as well as Newport Beach, California, and Southlake, Texas.

Mr Cooper began his career as a lawyer and partner at Auckland law firm Russell McVeagh, where he specialised in commercial and property law.

Chris Gordon is the Chairman of law firm Bell Gully, where he co-heads the firm’s Energy and Infrastructure and Projects teams. Andrew Grant Senior Partner, McKinsey & Company

Andrew Grant, currently based in Singapore, leads McKinsey & Company’s Global Public Sector Practice. He is a member of McKinsey’s Global Board and chairs its Knowledge and Capability Committee.

Prior to his current role, Andrew was Managing Director for Greater China from 2005-2009, based in Shanghai, and he led McKinsey and Company in New Zealand from 1997-2004. He was based in Tokyo, London, Santiago and Sydney prior to this.

In his 25 years with the Firm, Andrew has advised clients in a broad range of industries and geographies—including basic materials and agribusiness, consumer goods and the public sector. His professional focus is currently on helping leading public sector institutions solve their most pressing strategic challenges. McKinsey currently is serving 200 public sector clients in 90 countries and Andrew leads McKinsey’s relationship with it 10 most significant public sector institutions. Under Andrew’s stewardship the Public Sector has grown from less than 3 percent of McKinsey’s client service to more than 15 percent.

Peter Harris is the Managing Director of CBL Insurance, the NZ-based credit surety and financial risk insurance company being part of the global CBL Insurance Group. He has been with the company since 1996, and was appointed Managing Director in 2007. Prior to joining CBL, Peter was an investment banker, a Director and shareholder in General Capital & Commerce Limited, a Director of Boston Marks International Limited, and a senior executive of Fletcher Steel Limited.

Mr Harris headed up the team which took CBL public in 2015, and dual-listed its shares on the Australian and New Zealand Stock Exchanges.

Oliver Hartwich is the Executive Director of The New Zealand Initiative. Before joining the Initiative, he was a Research Fellow at the Centre for Independent Studies (Sydney), Chief Economist at Policy Exchange (London), and an advisor in the UK House of Lords.

Dr Hartwich holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration and a PhD in Law from Bochum University (Germany). He writes a regular column for The National Business Review, and comments regularly on New Zealand television and radio.

Adrian Littlewood Chief Executive, Auckland Airport

Adrian Littlewood joined Auckland Airport in 2009 and has been the Chief Executive since 2012. Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive, Adrian was the company’s General Manager of Retail and Commercial. Earlier in his professional career, Adrian worked in strategy, product and marketing management roles at Telecom New Zealand, was a management consultant in the United Kingdom and worked as a corporate lawyer for Bell Gully in New Zealand and Baker & McKenzie in the United Kingdom. Sir Christopher Mace KNZM Director, The New Zealand Initiative

Sir Christopher Mace is a company director and chairman. He is a director of the publicly listed Heartland Bank and an investor in a number of sectors including finance, property and technology.

Sir Christopher is a commissioner of the Tertiary Education Commission which funds the majority of New Zealand’s universities and other tertiary institutions.

He is chairman of New Zealand’s largest environmental research institute NIWA, responsible for freshwater, atmospheric and ocean research. Sir Christopher’s past science and research chairmanships include the forensic and environmental research institute ESR and New Zealand’s Antarctic research unit, Antarctica New Zealand.

Sjoerd Post Chief Executive, Refining NZ

Sjoerd Post is the Chief Executive of Refining NZ, New Zealand’s only oil refinery. He joined the company in 2013, having previously been a member of the Executive Ream of Royal Dutch Shell’s Downstream (Refining, Trading, Distribution and Sales and Marketing) business responsible for the overall global Downstream Strategy and Portfolio activities.

Mr Post was also on the Board of the European Refinery Association Europia and Technical Association CONCAWE. Prior to that he was the Head of Shell’s Global Aviation and Marine business. Mr Post holds a MSc in Mathematics.

Simon Power General Manager, Consumer Banking & Wealth, Westpac

Simon Power was appointed as Westpac’s General Manager, Consumer Banking & Wealth in May 2015. Chris Quin is the Chief Executive of Foodstuffs North Island. Foodstuffs North Island is a dynamic co-operative representing New Zealand’s most Page | 12 iconic and loved grocery brands. Its stores serve over 1.3 million New Zealanders every week and are an integral part of New Zealand communities.

Prior to this position, he spent twenty-three years at Spark NZ (previously Telecom NZ), serving Kiwi consumers and small businesses through call centres, online and a franchises network of 120 stores and business hubs. Mr Quin became CEO of Telecom retail in 2012, before becoming CEO of Spark Home, Business and Mobile in 2014.

He has a strong track record in leadership roles, particularly in the IT, telecommunications and retail sectors.

Graham Rich Managing Partner & Dean, PortfolioConstruction Forum

Graham is a pioneer of retail managed funds research in Australasia, and of financial planning in New Zealand.

He started his financial services career in NZ in 1975. In 1983, he established his own business delivering funds research and financial advice professional development services. After initially adding Morningstar as a minority shareholder in his fund research business in 1999, he continued to develop it for several years, before selling the rest of the fund research business to Morningstar.

Sam Ricketts is the Managing Director and Head of FNCZ's Investment Banking division. Mr Ricketts specialises in cross border mergers and acquisitions and public and private capital raisings.

Mr Ricketts is on the Board of FNZC and Pearlfisher Capital (FNZC’s non- banks property lending business). FNZC is New Zealand’s leading full service, wholly locally owned, share broking, wealth management and investment banking firm. Mr Ricketts joined FNZC in 2006.

Craig Stobo was educated at Waitaki Boys High School (Milner Prize), Otago University (BA Hons First Class in Economics) and Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvannia (Advanced Management Programme). He has worked as a diplomat for the NZ and Australian Governments; economist and investment banker for Bankers Trust NZ;and also as CEO and Executive Vice President for BT Funds Management NZ Ltd.

He has chaired the Government review of the taxation of investment income in 2004 which lead to the PIE tax regime which underpins the $27b Kiwisaver superannuation industry; chaired the Government review of financial services exports in 2010; and chaired the Establishment Board of the Local Government Funding Agency (LGFA) prior to its incorporation in December 2011.LGFA is now the largest NZD bond issuer after the NZ Government.

Currently he provides corporate advisory services to domestic and global clients. He also has private equity interests in businesses including global equity investor Elevation Capital Management; wealth advisory firm Saturn Portfolio Management; and oyster farmer and exporter Biomarine Ltd.

Blair Vernon is the Managing Director of AMP New Zealand, a leading life insurance and retirement savings provider in New Zealand and Australia. AMP has over 600,000 customers in New Zealand, and has been Page | 14 offering financial advice and products in New Zealand for 163 years. Blair has held this position since January 2017.

Mr Vernon joined AMP in 2009. Prior to his current position he was AMP’s Director Retail Financial Services, responsible for sales, customer service and marketing. He has more than 20 years’ experience in financial services and has had a number of executive roles within the industry, including with the Bank of New Zealand and NAB.

Sir John Wells Chairman, CBL Insurance

Sir John is the Chairman of CBL Corporation, the publicly listed parent of the global CBL Insurance Group. He has held this position since 2012.

Following a career in merchant and investment banking, Sir John and others established Bancorp in 1987, a group of companies, of which he remained Non-Executive Chair, until 2016.

He was appointed the inaugural Chairman of SPARC, a position he held for nine years until 2009. Sir John was a member of the Rugby World Cup Bid Committee which was successful in gaining the hosting rights for the 2011 RWC. He subsequently became a Government appointee to the Board of Rugby NZ 2011 Ltd. Sir John has chaired a number of other major sporting events including the 2012 Triathlon World Championships and the 2012 Volvo Ocean Race Stopover in Auckland. More recently he chaired the Auckland Sport Establishment Board and is presently Chair of the World Masters Games 2017.

He is also Chair of a number of commercial entities including Fisher Funds Management, Martin Jenkins, Sheffield North Island and an Advisory Board member of Marsh. In 2016 he stepped down as Chair of Development Auckland and prior to that the Auckland Council Property CCO.

Dr David Vogelsanger Ambassador to New Zealand, Swiss Embassy

Dr David Vogelsanger is the Swiss ambassador to New Zealand, the Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and Tuvalu. He is also Consul General to American Samoa. Page | 15

Dr Vogelsanger has been involved with the Swiss Confederation’s diplomatic service since 1987. He served for five years as Consul General in Milan before spending four years as Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone.

He holds a doctorate in history and political science from Zurich University.

Kelvin Wickham Chief Operating Officer (NZMP), Fonterra

Kelvin Wickham leads the sales and marketing of all Fonterra ingredients globally, delivering solutions to our global customers, ensuring optimisation of demand and supply, commodity price risk management, and championing the NZMP™ brand.

Kelvin has more than 27 years’ experience in the dairy industry and has played a key role in building markets, customer relationships and partnerships. His previous role of President Greater China and India focused on directing the development of Fonterra’s business in these expanding markets, during which he oversaw a period of rapid growth. Prior to that, he led Fonterra’s Supplier and External Relations team, and was Managing Director of Fonterra’s Global Trade overseeing the launch of GlobalDairyTrade.

From 2005 to 2007 he was the Director of Sales and Operations Planning. Kelvin holds a Chemical and Materials Engineering Degree, a Master of Management and a Diploma of Dairy Science and Technology.
