Christmas Fair 2000 Sunday, 10th December, saw large numbers of eager shoppers descend on the Junior School for our annu- al Christmas Fair. Thanks to the generosity of parish- ioners the stalls were laden with goods gathered by our large band of collectors. The Wheel of Fortune was like an Aladdin's Cave, and Tony Mulholland and his team of helpers kept the 'punters' amused as the prizes were won. Santa was in great form and lots of excited children paid him a visit and were delighted with their gifts. The Bottle Stall was a big attraction as were the many raffle prizes on offer - all in all a terrif- ic day was enjoyed by those present. The car raffle was the finale of the afternoon, and the lucky winners were the Traynor family from Wainsfort Left to right: Anne Woodcock, Kay Walsh and Eleanor Grove. We send them warm congratulations and O'Brien sell tickets for the Christmas cake to a hopeful customer. renew our wish for many years of safe and happy motoring in their Peugeot 206. The prize will be pre- sented at the end of January. This raffle yielded a prof- it of £2,600 for the Parish and the net proceeds of the Fair itself totalled £14,814 for which the Parish is extremely grateful. On behalf of the Social Events Committee I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all who helped to organise and run the Fair, all who kindly donated goods/prizes and also the large number of volunteers who sold tickets for the car raffle. Your com- bined efforts yielded great results. - Declan Cahill, Chairperson, Social Events Committee
