Smaller parties flying solo learned the hard way that independence meant risk falling below the electoral threshold and not making it into the Knesset. By doing so, they not only hurt themselves but mortally wound their entire political camp by “wasting” votes that could help them build a bloc large enough to construct a government. With only nine parties seemingly in a position to cross the electoral threshold, the next Knesset is set to feature the fewest number of parties in Israel’s history. Here are the main contenders: • Likud: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - fighting a second re-election campaign under the shadow of pending corruption indictments, moved early to reinforce Likud by merging it with Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon’s party giving himself one less party to wrestle with in governing coalition negotiations. Later in the race, he convinced Moshe Feiglin, leader of the far-right Zehut party, to pull out of the elections in order to give larger right-wing parties the precious votes he was taking.     49. Ársþing Júdósambands Íslands Ársskýrsla JSÍ 2019 1 Skýrsla stjórnar Ársþing 2019 48. ársþing Júdósambands Íslands var haldið 25. maí í húsakynnum ÍSÍ. Í aðalstjórn tímabilið 2019-2021 voru eftirfarandi aðilar kosnir: Ari Sigfússon og Birkir Jóakimsson. Auk þess var Jóhann Másson formaður endurkjörinn til 2021. Í varastjórn tímabilið 2018-2019 voru eftirfarandi aðilar kosnir: Birgir Ómarsson, Teitur Sveinsson og Karen Rúnarsdóttir. Skoðunarmenn reikninga: Runólfur Gunnlaugsson og Gísli Jón Magnússon til vara. Í dómaranefnd voru kosnir: Jón Kristinn Sigurðsson, Sævar Jóhann Sigursteinsson, Björn Sigurðarson. Til vara, Birkir Hrafn Jóakimsson, Daníel Ólafsson og Yoshihiko Iura. Í aganefnd voru kosnir: Haraldur Baldursson, Gísli Jón Magnússon og Guðmundur Gunnarsson. Til vara Tryggvi Gunnarsson, Víkingur Víkingsson og Daníel Reynisson. Stjórnin Stjórnin hélt 8 bókaða fundi. Á fyrsta fundi eftir ársþing 2019 skipti stjórnin með sér verkum. Arnar Ólafsson varaformaður, Ari Sigfússon ritari, Kristján Daðason gjaldkeri. Aðrir meðstjórnendur. Varastjórn var boðuð á alla fundi. Formaður Afreks og keppnisnefndar var valinn Arnar Ólafsson, formaður menntanefndar var valinn Björn Sigurðarson, formaður markaðs- og kynningarnefndar var valinn Birkir Jóakimsson, Nefndarformenn báru ábyrgð á því að fá með sér 5 aðila utan stjórnar í nefndir. Stjórn skipaði í Tækniráð Bjarna Friðriksson, Björn Halldórsson og Garðar Skaftason. Árið 2019- 2020 var tímabil spennu og óvissu í störfum JSÍ Eltingaleikurinn við ÓL 2020 var í algleymingi á tímabilinu. Egill og Logi heltust úr lestinni vegna meiðsla, en Sveinbjörn hélt ótrauður áfram. JSÍ studdi við bakið á honum eins og bolmagn var til og fjármunir. Það var á brattan að sækja fyrir Sveinbjörn sem keppir í sterkasta þyngdarflokki karla eins og staðan er í dag.
