2019 ANNUAL REPORT LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

As we prepare this report, we are in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, which has put strain and stress on the nonprofit organizations that support our communities throughout New England. I am particularly grateful for the strong relationships that the Arbella Insurance has built with our many nonprofit partners, making it possible for us to respond quickly and proactively to some of their most pressing needs. Recently, we donated more than $125,000 to local food pantries, homeless shelters, and others, including the newly formed COVID-19 Relief Fund, all of which are working hard to help those impacted by the virus. As I look back on 2019, it was our strong relationships that made it possible for us to work with Arbella Insurance Group’s employees and independent insurance agents to donate more than $2.5 million to 731 local grassroots organizations and other programs that might otherwise have gone unnoticed. The Foundation continues to aid and support a variety of local community initiatives, such as the newly established Smart South Coast. Founded by the South Coast Youth Courts Beverly Tangvik and local police departments, Drive Smart South Coast delivers heightened enforcement and President community education to prevent the devastating consequences of distracted driving. Arbella Insurance Foundation In addition to the many established and emerging community programs the Foundation supports, we also led a number of our own initiatives, such as the newly established Field Trip Transportation program, which allows local schools to apply directly for a Foundation-funded school bus grant. We were pleased to sponsor key milestone celebrations of some of our earliest charitable partners, including the Heritage Museums and Gardens’ 50th anniversary, the Cape Abilities’ 50th anniversary gala, and the Landmarks Orchestra’s 90th summer concert season. We were honored to recognize these inclusive organizations and to help celebrate their achievements. While uncertainty may dominate the foreseeable future, the Arbella Insurance Foundation will continue to be here to sponsor, support, and guide organizations that address current and developing issues in our communities. Thank you for your continued support. I wish you and your family good health.

Sincerely,

Beverly Tangvik President Arbella Insurance Foundation
