On Thursday (Oct 13th), Brooks released “Baby, Let’s Lay Down And Dance” as the first single from Gunslinger. Fritos, one of the flagship brands from PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay division, has teamed up with Brooks to offer fans an exclusive chance to download the song. Starting this month, anyone who purchases a bag of Fritos Corn Chips will find a code on the bag that allows them to get a free download. A Song That ‘Just Jumps Out When You Hear It’ “Baby, Let’s Lay Down and Dance” was written by Garth Brooks with Kent Blazy, Steve Dorff, Victoria Shaw, and Kim Williams. If Kim Williams sounds familiar to you, this is because he’s the brilliant mind behind some of the biggest hits of Brooks like “Papa Loved Mama,” “She’s Gonna Make It,” and “Ain’t Goin’ Down (‘Til The Sun Comes Up).” He also wrote hit singles for other notable artists such as Randy Travis, Reba McEntire, Clay Walker, and Joe Diffie. Sadly, Williams died even before the song was written entirely. “‘Baby, Let’s Lay Down and Dance’ was just a fun title that Kent Blazy has had in his book of titles forever, always threatening to write it. So, one day, Kim, Kent, and I sat down and wrote it. We got a little help from Steve Dorff, and then Victoria Shaw finished it. WMIL led the market in September with Persons 18-34 (12.7) and 25-54 (10.6), Wolfe shares. C: You lived your whole life here in St. Bernard? L: Yes. D: And what generation would you be? L: I don't know, I was born in 1940, grew up at Delecraw. D: Where did you... how long have your parents been here and your grandaprents and your great grandparents? L: Well I go back as far as my grandparents. D: Alright. L: They were here. D: And were they oyster men or were they trappers or both? L: Well if they begin my grandfather more or less was a farmer, he grew up on a plantation right down this way. It's called ughhh.
