Are You Ready to Rock IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE WHO WANTS TO ROCK…? IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE WHO WANTS TO ROLL…? AND… IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE WHO WANTS TO BOOGIE…? CELEBRATING FOUR DECADES OF STATUS QUO, THE U.K.’S LONGEST RUNNING QUO TRIBUTE ACT -COUNTERFEIT QUO- Counterfeit Quo formed in Essex in early 1995 by four hardened Quo fans who set out to recreate the dynamic Quo performances of old. The band’s reputation spread rapidly and they have now toured every region of the U.K., ventured into Europe and featured on local and national BBC Radio. An adrenaline charged set crashes its way through many of Quo's 22 top ten chart hits including In The Army, Down Down, Whatever You Want and Rocking All Over The World, whilst still paying tribute to glorious earlier albums like Piledriver, Hello and 'Quo' So what you get is Heads Down, No-Nonsense Boogie played on the familiar beaten up green and white Telecasters by the denim clad likenesses of Status Quo. The band has also had the honour of working with original Quo drummer John Coghlan, current bassist John 'Rhino' Edwards, and been given the seal of approval from no less than Quo's very own Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt. "Counterfeit Quo - They sound FANTASTIC" - talkSPORT Radio " ...from the very first chord, I think it's fair to say they went down an absolute storm..(the audience) were not just happy, they were ECSTATIC." - Alan Burridge, KYPS "I also went along to the Counterfeit Quo gig and had a lot of fun listening to their excellent performance to 4000 happy people of many Quo songs I hadn't heard in a long time. Definitely ones to check out." - Bob Young, Status Quo .

STATUS QUO – 03.

  • Status Quo Keep It Real
Downloaded from simongarfield.com © Simon Garfield 2005 Status Quo Keep It Real Two men, three chords and 30 years of unchanged melody. Night & Day (Mail on Sunday), July 1997 ‘They take a vein from your leg, and chop it up four times.’ Rick Parfitt, the big-haired, blond singer-guitarist with Status Quo for the past 30 years, is reliving his quadruple heart-bypass operation of a few weeks ago. It was a rock star thing, he says, brought about by women, divorcing women, smoking, alcohol, drugs and almost three decades of climbing on stage to ask people if they would, or would not, like to ride in a paper plane. He’d come back from a tour of Japan and Australia, and he was looking really good. He was tanned. He felt great, at 48. He got a pain in his right arm, but was always one of those people who believed that if you ignore something long enough, eventually it will go away. So he went on tour with the band again, this time to Dubai. When he returned, the pain reappeared. ‘I was making some tea at home, and I was walking up the stairs,’ he says, ‘and this time the pain went across my chest and down my other arm, and it intensified and dropped me to my knees. At this point I can’t move or breathe and I think I’m dying.’ When it eased, he called his doctor in Harley Street, and went to see him at three the following afternoon, and by nine he was under the knife.

  • Swinging Blue Jeans
1 Chairman’s voice of appreciation Here we go again! As the years go by we are getting bigger and better without losing the friendly family atmosphere. Over the years we have raised thousands of pounds for various charities. This year we are concentrating on helping local homes that look after patients suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease and other types of dementia. We will also be donating additional money to Manton Village Hall to help towards the re-furbishment. It is our intention to concentrate on local charities where the money raised can make a difference to the local community. This year we are welcoming back the first professional act to perform at MantonFest, The Swinging Blue Jeans. They give me a chance to wander down memory lane and back to my wild youth! We are so fortunate to have Fred and Emma Goltz living in Manton Grange. They not only allow us use of the water meadow but, once again, are our main sponsor thus allowing us to develop this music festival, giving everyone a fantastic day out! Our dedicated volunteers and supporters have come up trumps again. The committee MantonFest Chairman - Roger Grant - Stuart Whant, Anne Morgan, Linda Yeardley and Becky Banning with the help of Denise Grant have made sure that all is running smoothly. Without them I could not organise this event. I would also like to give a big thanks to marlborough.news for all their support particularly Neil Goodwin who has put this programme together and Marina Rae who has tirelessly encouraged the advertisers to present their advertisements to you in this programme.

FWWH Revised Songbook Revised Summer 2011 ―This camp was built to music therefore built forever‖ These are the songs sung by Four Winds and Westward Ho campers – songs that have expressed their interests and ideals through the years. As you sing the songs again, may they recall memories of sunny days, and some misty and rainy ones too, of sailing on sparkling blue water, of cantering along leafy trails, of exploring the beach when the tide is out. May these songs remind you of unexpected adventure, and of friendships formed through the sharing of Summer days, working and playing together. 1 Index of songs A Gypsy‘s Life…………………………………………………….7 A Junior Song……………………………………………………..7 A Walking Song………………………………….…….………….8 Across A Thousand Miles of Sea…………..………..…………….8 Ah, Lovely Meadows…………………………..……..…………...9 All Hands On Deck……………………………………..……..…10 Another Fall…………………………………...…………………10 The Banks of the Sacramento…………………………………….…….12 Big Foot………………………………………..……….………………13 Bike Song……………………………………………………….…..…..14 Blow the Man Down…………………………………………….……...14 Blowin‘ In the Wind…………………………………………………....15 Boy‘s Grace…………………………………………………………….16 Boxcar……………………………………………………….…..……..16 Canoe Round…………………………………………………...………17 Calling Out To You…………………………………………………….17 Canoe Song……………………………………………………………..18 Canoeing Song………………………………………………………….18 Cape Anne………………………………………………...……………19 Carlyn…………………………………………………………….…….20 Changes………………………………………………………………...20 Christmas Night………………………………………………………...21 Christmas Song…………………………………………………………21 The Circle Game……………………………………………………..…22
