STRABAG CONSORTIUM BUILDING € 300 MILLION EISACK RIVER UNDERCROSSING FOR

Construction of two main tubes with a length of 4.3 km under the river Eisack STRABAG share 39 % Construction time of around eight years

Vienna, 24 October 2014 The construction group STRABAG, in a consortium with the Italian construction companies Salini Impregilo, Consorzio Cooperative Costruzioni CCC and Collini Lavori, signed the € 300 million contract to build the Eisack Undercrossing section of the Brenner Base Tunnel. STRABAG holds a 39 % share in the consortium. Work is scheduled to begin this year with a planned construction time of around eight years.

The contract section is located at the southern end of the Brenner Base Tunnel near the town of (Fortezza) in the Province of Bozen () in . The work comprises the construction of the two main tubes of the future Brenner Base Tunnel with a total length of 4.3 km, as well as two connecting tunnels to the existing , adaptations and improvements to the existing infrastructure, and the environmental restoration of all areas after construction is completed.
