Finger Lakes are a group of 11 long, narrow, roughly north–south lakes in an area informally called the Finger Lakes region in Central New York. The name of the lake is Indian. The Indian legend says the Creator was resting with his hands while creating everything. But geologists explain that Finger Lake was formed due to the continuous erosion of the land by glaciers during the Ice Age. Seneca Lake is the largest glacier Finger Lake in New York State, and the deepest lake in the state. Due to the unique climate of Lake Seneca, there are more than 50 wineries here.
