-15- TRIPLE WINNERS

Duffield Dynamo’s girls under 10’s squad has just ended a fantastic season , winning the FA Derbyshire Girls and Ladies League, plus the 2 Cup Competitions run by the League. The League Cup was won in a very tight match with a score line of 1-0. Things got even closer in the Derbyshire Girls Cup when, after extra time, the score was 1-1. A tense time followed as the match was decided by penalties with Dynamo’s finally winning 3-1 ! Whaley Bridge, from near Manchester, were at the top of the league with two matches to play. Unbelievably both these two matches were against Dynamo’s! The matches were arranged back-to-back and Dynamo’s needed to win the first match to take the league to a decider. Anything else and Whaley Bridge were the league winners. Dynamo’s not only won the first match 3-1, but won the second 2-0 to win the league! In only their second competitive season, Dynamo’s girls have done brilliantly well to become the most successful team in the Derbyshire Girls League. They have learnt great football skills, developed a wonderful team spirit, and really enjoy their time playing and training together. Naturally they all enjoy winning trophies as well ! Looking forward to next season we will be keeping our squad relatively small, but would like to find a keen goalkeeper to join our team. If you are interested, and if you will be aged either 9 or 10 on 31st August 2009, then contact Nigel Williams on 842 919 or 07736 235 697.
