DELL'S ADAMO AND APPLE'S LATEST iPOD SHUFFLE

CNET-TV Senior Editor Natali Del Conte had first looks at two new consumer products that are getting big buzz, on The Early Show on Tuesday, March 17, 2009:

Dell Adamo:

Soon-To-Be-Released; A Likely Competitor For Apple's MacBook Air (And Very Similar In Appearance)

- Price: $1999 - Where to buy: Dell.com - Biulled as "world¹s thinnest laptop" at 0.55 millimeters thick -- thinner than MacBook Air - They are calling it a "luxury brand notebook" - They will release an entire ecosystem of products around it such as a case and mouse - Made with tempered glass - Adamo is Latin for "fall in love with"

New Apple Shuffle

- How much: $79 - Where to buy: or apple.com/ipod - 4 gigs of storage, which amounts to about 5,000 songs - Half the size of the old one because the control buttons are on the headphone cables - Plus and minus for volume and a clicker in the middle. - Pressing once will pause, two clicks will skip forward, three clicks will go backwards. - First shuffle that literally tells you what song you¹re playing. When you press and hold the clicker, a synthetic voice tells you the name of the song. Press the button longer, and you get a list of the play lists on the shuffle, which you can select by pressing the button again. - Voice works in 14 languages, which you won¹t hear unless you press and hold the button - You can disable the voice in iTunes if you hate it - If you lose the headphones, you have to shop around for a replacement pair that includes Apple¹s clicker remote - This shuffle won¹t appeal to everyone because of the quirky controls and size but it does make it one of the more exciting MP3 players in its storage capacity and price range
