Davis Speech - 'A Lot of Things -Remain the Same' (Ed note: This is a partial transcript of Angela Davis ' speech Friday night in USB 2722.)

First of all, I really appreciate the very wann and enthusiastic welcome. It's been about 10 years since I was last on this campus, I couldn't find my way around this afternoon. And I noticed that a lot of things have changed. But I also noticed that a lot of things have remained the same. We had problems 12 and 13 years ago finding a space large enough to hold meetings with large numbers of people. I get the feeling that the administration on this campus still doesn't want to see people coming together in struggle. Also , it ' s really beautiful to see so many 'For a Long Time, people of color here.
