Irish Rivals • Indiana and Notre Dame have met at least once a year for the past five seasons. Last year, the two teams met twice. The Hoosiers won the regular-season battle 3-0 on Oct. 26, while the Fighting Irish took the game that ended Indiana’s season in the second round of the NCAA Tournament 2-0. • The Hoosiers hold a 23-3-2 overall record against the Irish. However, over the past five seasons, the record is even at 3-3. adidas is a proud sponsor of Indiana men’s soccer and its seven national Awards for Ackley championships. • Sophomore Brian Ackley has stepped up to be a force at forward for the Hoosiers. He has scored a goal in each of Indiana’s first two games of the season. Ackley also scored goals in each of the Hoosiers exhibition games, against No. 1 Maryland and UIC. • For his efforts, he was named the Offensive MVP of the Mike Berticelli Tournament, College Soccer News Player of the Week and Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.
