A Message from Your NFIB State Director in Virginia This year's state elections are the most critical ones we'll see in more than a decade for small business owners. In recent years, a tidal wave of bills pushing labor mandates and a variety of other regulatory burdens that would tie the hands of small business owners have been pushed by certain members of the General Assembly. As your State Director, I speak out against that type of legislation, but it’s also important for our members to actively participate in elections by selecting business-friendly candidates to send to Richmond. NFIB hopes this voter guide will help you during the election by providing valuable guidance. It contains a list of state candidates endorsed by the NFIB Virginia PAC. Legislators who voted with NFIB on key small business issues during their tenure have earned our support. If a candidate is challenging an incumbent, or running in an open district, their responses to our small business survey were a key factor for consideration. In supporting these candidates, NFIB is sending a clear message that leaders who champion the cause of small business are vital to the growth of small and family-owned businesses in Virginia. Be a Small Business Voter this year when you go to the polls or fill out a ballot. Please encourage your friends, family, employees, and fellow business owners to vote for pro-small business candidates. VIRGINIA We need to keep our legislature pro-business so let’s turn the tide in Richmond this year by raising ELECTION DAY Be a our collective voice during this critical election. #smallbizvoter NOVEMBER 5 NOVEMBER 5 NOVEMBER Nicole Riley, State Director NFIB 53 Century Blvd., Suite 250 Nashville, TN 37214 Election Day is State Senate House of Delegates District 3 Tommy Norment District 4 Will Wampler District 56 John McGuire November 5 District 4 Ryan McDougle District 6 Jeff Campbell District 58 Rob Bell District 6 Lynwood Lewis District 7 Nick Rush District 59 Matt Fariss* District 7 Jen Kiggans District 8 Joe McNamara District 60 James Edmunds District 8 Bill DeSteph* District 10 Randy Minchew District 61 Tommy Wright District 10 Glen Sturtevant District 12 Chris Hurst District 62 Carrie Coyner Voter Registration Deadline District 11 Amanda Chase District 14 Danny Marshall District 63 Lashrecse Aird October 15, 2019 District 12 Siobhan Dunnavant District 15 Todd Gilbert District 64 Emily Brewer District 13 Geary Higgins District 16 Les Adams* District 65 Lee Ware District 14 John Cosgrove District 18 Michael Webert District 66 Kirk Cox District 15 Frank Ruff District 20 John Avoli District 68 Garrison Coward District 17 Bryce Reeves District 21 Kelly Convirs-Fowler District 72 GayDonna Absentee Voting District 19 Dave Suetterlein District 22 Kathy Byron Vandergriff District 20 Bill Stanley District 23 Wendell Walker District 73 Mary Margaret Request Deadline: October 29, 2019 by mail District 22 Mark Peake District 24 Ronnie Campbell Kastelberg or November 2, 2019 in-person District 24 Emmett Hanger District 25 Chris Runion* District 75 Otto Wachsmann Return Deadline: November 5, 2019 District 25 Creigh Deeds District 26 Tony Wilt* District 76 Chris Jones District 26 Mark Obenshain* District 27 Roxann Robinson District 81 Barry Knight In-person Absentee Voting: September 21, 2019 – District 27 Jill Vogel District 28 Paul Milde* District 82 Jason Miyares November 2, 2019 District 28 Richard Stuart District 29 Chris Collins District 83 Chris Stolle District 38 Ben Chafin District 30 Nick Freitas District 84 Glenn Davis District 39 George Barker District 31 DJ Jordan District 85 Rocky Holcomb District 40 Todd Pillion District 33 Dave LaRock* District 88 Mark Cole District 40 Tim Hugo District 94 David Yancey ID Requirements *Indicates NFIB Member District 50 Ian Lovejoy District 96 Amanda Batten District 51 Rich Anderson District 98 Keith Hodges Photo Identification is required for all voters.
