The City has been conservative in its 623-932-1637 projected revenues and is evaluating different scenarios as we must be prepared to respond to the economic downturn. To its credit, the City has exercised very conservative budget practices, so budgets will be managed. I have asked departments to review budgets and identify program reductions to be considered as part of the City’s overall long term financial strategy. Departments are being asked to identify the impact to the community’s service levels for both this fiscal year and next. This information will be reviewed as part of a comprehensive analysis of the City’s budget. At this point, this exercise is contingency planning. No decisions have been made. The information will be presented to the City Council as part of a December work session. You can watch all work sessions live or after the fact on our website – www.goodyearaz.gov.
