The Press Guide, which you are holding in your hands, contains basic information for journalists about the Mattoni České Budějovice Half Marathon. You will also find a short introduction of elite athletes including intermediate times leading to breaking records. In the start and finish area there will be a place reserved for accredited media for photo shooting. The reserved place for media at the Start area will be available from 6:15 p.m. till 6:35 p.m. and at the Finish from 7:20 p.m. till 7:50 p.m. CHARITY RUN AND HELP - IT´S EASY!

A total of 101 runners have purchased start numbers for the Mattoni České Budějovice Half Marathon through not-for-profit organisations and in so doing also supported a good cause! Others help out indirectly through individual fundraising, raising money for specific charitable projects by taking part in races.

The Run for a Good Cause project not only helps not-for-profit organisations raise funds but also brings runners joy in knowing they’re doing something that will benefit others. In 2018, RunCzech is collaborating with 10 not-for-profit organisations from all over the country. They presell start numbers for RunCzech races and use the funds raised for charitable causes. RunCzech also works with the Civil Society Development Foundation (NROS) Help for Children and Česká televize’s Catch a Star project which is endorsed by a number of well-known personalities (actors, singers, TV presenters). The University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice is a young university founded in 1991. With almost eleven thousand students, we are among the largest educational and scientific institutions in the Czech Republic; and with almost two thousand employees we belong to one of the largest employers in the region. Students can choose from among more than 200 fields of study at eight faculties – the Faculty of Agriculture, Arts, Economics, Education, Fisheries and Protection of Waters, Health and Social Sciences, Science, and Theology. This year, the USB Rector’s Cup Run has also been held for the first time as part of the Junior Half Marathon, a non-profit race for secondary schools.
