Sunday 4th August Our rides today were set out to Whitlenge near Hartlebury & Bromsgrove. This is a deceptive route with a few unexpected climbs, setting out via Stoke Works, crossing at Wychbold, where the C ride split off towards Bromsgrove, to a challenging climb at Elmbridge looping round with a few rise & falls before climbing through Hartlebury & up to Whitlenge for a well-deserved cuppa, where we met Bob Franks. The return route saw us climb through Rushock & Timberhonger before parting company with Bob in Bromsgrove, after which we crossed Bromsgrove up the Gambolds & back to

Bromsgrove.

Sunday 11th August This morning two rides left Morton Stanley for Bidford on Avon going out via Great Alne & Temple Grafton, the route was mainly rolling & not too challenging. The B group left the park with 9, picked up 3 at Astwood bank & 2 others caught us up on

Sunday Ride Outs Ride Sunday route swelling our numbers to 14. We had been hoping the weather would be on our side, but within 5 minutes of leaving the café the heavens opened & we all caped up, we were to get caught is a further down pour as we came into Feckenham, resulting in a very wet bunch arriving back in Redditch.

Sunday 18th August Having put off this ride due to poor weather & the café been an outside affair it was decided that this would be the week we went up . This ride is always a challenge with the incentive of the "café is at the top" & a total of 2,100ft of climbing, what's not to like? The first section is quite pleasant to get the legs warm, we then crossed Bromsgrove across Rock Hill & Fox Lane before turning up Fockbury Mill Lane & the first short climbs including St Alfreds Well . We continued over Broom Hill, 450ft, dropped through to climb St Kenelms Pass/Daytona Hill with a shout of 3 miles to the café off we went, 582ft of climbing. After initially dropping we then climbed Walton Hill & Harbours Hill cutting across through before climbing Dale Hill, a short very sharp climb. Needless to say a tired bunch arrived back at Morton Stanley. Sunday 25th August Summer appeared to have returned this week, with a much easier ride out to a new café at Snitterfield nr Stratford. Numbers were expected to to low this week as its bank holiday, but 16 riders still rode across two rides, we were also joined this week by Paul & Sulli Berry for the first time who opted for the A ride. Todays route took us out through Studley, Langley & Norton Lindsey before stopping at the Farm. The staff were brilliant here allowed us to bring our bikes into the courtyard area, moved the tables & chairs to accommodate us, supplied us with bottles of water on the table & generally looked after us. Peter & Cheryl were both beaten by the largest croissants ever seen & when we left it was nearing 30 degrees. We returned back via Wilmcote & Great Alne a very hot & sticky bunch.
